1986 Toyota MR2
Question:
My MR2 has been sitting for 3 years. I want to start driving it again. I purchased a new battery and it started right up and sounds great. 2 front tires are flat and it needs Hydrolic fluid. A friend of mine told me that the tires that are not flat will go flat if I try to drive on the freeway, because I did not have the car on blocks. Is there anything else I should look out for, before I actually try to really drive it? Also, I did notice that the gears sift does not seem to work, but I have not put the Hydrolic fluid in yet. I would be grateful for any information. I want to get advice from a mechanic, but I want to be able to communicate with them without sounding too stupid, like I do now. D. Sundes Answer:
Change all fluids, probably drain the gas too. Maybe even change the fuel filter if the gasoline comes out rusty or nasty. Tires will probably have flats spots which then my seperate if you drive on them. The tire might bulge and then blow, definately not a good idea. I think that's about it.
