The automatic went out....It didn't break, I just finally got around to doing the 5 speed swap.
1 engine/trans down 1 to go....Just gotta clean everything up before the new motor and trans goes in.

I'm not going to take the time to drain the auto fluid....thats a bitch to do.....A lot easier to just dump a bunch of cat litter onto the floor and sweep it all up.
With the manual trans I am going to drain the fluid....It's a lot easier to just toss the impact on the nut and go to town.
I just got set back 1 day though....borrowed a friend's pressure washer to clean the engine bay....I have the correct paint to redo the engine bay in a mettalic silver, but I can't do that until all the grease is gone in there.
I should have it running for the May 1st Z meet.

BTW yeah Bruce I have a LOT more tools now. I learned that it's a hell of a lot easier to have 3 of every tool I'll ever need, so that when I need one or two of em, they are always there.
I think I have 4 sets of metric sockets and 3 sets of metric wrenches. I also have air tools which makes life much much easier.
I still do appreciate the help those years back in the parking lot....Made this removal much easier as I knew what all had to be done.

i forgot to drain the tranny fluid to. It took a whole bad of kitty liter to clean up the mess.

When you come back from lunch, he has lost one, broke another one and stolen the last one.
This was proven with an Aggie Engineer and an oil field rough-neck so thye could see just who was smarter. They put both of them in a round room. They gave each three ball bearings, you know what happend with the oil field rough-neck already. But when they came back they found the Aggie Engineer sitting in a corner still trying to stack the ball-bearings!
Better get 4 or 5 of everthing, then you will be good to go. Need a hand? LOL
