Brown Chickens, who lay brown eggs. And some others that lay pastel colored eggs, depending on the feed used.
The Bantams are just too uppity.
We had some Polish Ornamentals, really nice looking chickens---fer lookin at more than laying. Neighbors dog got those one day killed all six.
Dog did not last long, I got him, eventually.

arakanahs? (sp?) Damm tony, we had those too, either I didnt know you had those or I forgot, but ya, they lay blue green eggs, when I was a kid I used to bring those in for easter and it was a hoot since they werent died!

They are kept away from the cars. When I was in high school, I had to clean up a Henry J that was used AS a chicken coop, and when the wife said she wanted chickens I was adamant: NOT NEAR ANY OF MY CARS!
