Great video....and I agree totally. We had a Toyota Tacoma on a local golf course construction site....being built at a Mountain Ski area.....in 97...truck must have been 80's version. Real steep, muddy/rocky slopes....and we (construction crew) used the poor old toyota as a real mule. Same thing happened...frame broke but the body work kept it together till the frame was rewelded. And again...... Z-On ... Gene Street Modified 75-280,Tokico HPs,5-spd,Urethane Bushes, JSK Fuel Rail.... 72-240 ,stock..for now....back on the road after 20 yr hibernation ! Answer:

That originally was broadcast on Top Gear a long time ago. Toyota uses that segment in training classes to promote the durability of the product line. I own an '80 SR5 longbed. Still passes smog with close to 200K on the clock on the original catalytic converter. Amazing. Answer:

Truly built to last, almost solely. That is what a truck should be like. I know of a couple guys that had them alongside the old early 80's f150's on a mexican deer hunting lease. Those guys would leave it in the desert unstarted for 9 months of the year, then beat the hell out of them carrying a thousand pounds of deer stands and corn in the back. This one guy bought the tocama used with over 200k on it. Abused it to 300k over a 10 year period before rats ate all of its wiring to the point of no return. 19[TT]91 My TT beauty is gone. 2[00]2 Honda 954RR Suzuki 1200 S; sportscar eater 19[I4]94 Integra GSR Sedan Long live the Z... aka SAHTT Answer:

my DD is a '91 toyota pickup sr5 v6 4x4. bought it last july with 172k miles. now had 179k miles. i replaced the orig. clutch at 177k miles. previous owner used to tow his small boat and had big monter tires on it. truck has 3" body lift and 2" blocks and torsions turn up so he musta had some good sized tires on it. i just have 31x10.5's on it now. impressed the hell out of me that despite having big tires and towing that the clutch lasted that long. i recently found out it does have a burnt valve #6 - very common on the 3.0 v6. cyl 6 only has 25 psi compression. despite that i towed a double axle trailor w/my '82 280zxt parts car on it. was able to do 55mph w/out too much trouble. didn't seem to mind it except for starting from a dead stop. outside of that the truck is fairly trouble free. course i've had to do some normal maintenance, tires, brakes, tune up and stuff like that but it runs like a champ. plannin on doing a top end rebuild on it this spring and should be good to go for another 180k miles definately an awesome vehicle. i grew up in a gm family and am glad my eyes have been opened up to better things. I scouted a path across a river with my dad an uncle following in a Toyota 4X4 pick up... Damn beaver's dam burst and took out the bridge to our fav fishing spot so we had to find another path cross the river. I'll dig out pics one day.
