They don't charge you to use this forum, They don't make any money off it, they don't even make enough to cover the cost of operating it. How many webhosting servers have you bought? How many BBS' have you ran? They didn't cheap out on anything. This is a free service they offer cause of their love for these cars. If you don't like it, you don't have to come to the site.

the majority of forums make you link your picture from another site, however, some forums provide user friendly functionality to add pictures. this one assumes you know how.
dragon... this site makes money off us. they should be paying the people that provide responses to questions that keep people coming here. otherwise there would be no advertising revenue.

justin I define making money by having a profit left over. Unless they are getting way more for their add space than the average website I'd say they are lucky if they are breaking even.

Forums are not in the business to make money. If you are looking to make money off of a forum you have your head up your ass when it comes to e-commerce.

Of course forums don't make money. But at that point how can you criticize a forum for not doing things the way you would have done it when they are doing it for a free service. Like I said if you don't like it there are other places to go. Saying the creators of the forum cheapped out when it came to placing photos in the threads is studid. If you can do better let's see it?

I'm not saying Derek is doing a bad job. I don't know if he has upgraded or switched servers since 97 as there is blog or forum history to show this. I do know server space and bandwidth are dirtcheap right now and the price keeps going down. So there is no reason why a forum cannot host pics or files for a month or so. As for me running a Zcar forum lets just say that half the posts and the poster would be deleted or banned in this place. So probably not a good thing......then again.
