Ok, my grandpa just bought my little bro a 1982 maxima. We have not seen it yet, but my GP swears it is impecably clean. I didnt have any experience or knowledge of these cars so I went searching online. But I can only find a few general bits of info on the car. So if anyone could give me some info about the car and its engine I would appreciate it. I purchased a 280zx for my Bro but it is far from drive able. If there are any swapable parts or similarities to the z cars, that info would be appreciated as well.

lots of swappable parts from a 280zx! the engine (if it is gasoline) is an l24e. it's similar to the z engines, but i think smaller connecting rod journals (or something like that) plus a front-sump oil pan/pickup instead of a rear. i believe the diff is an r180. my maxima has cv axles with the r180 (no, can't swap with the turbo/2+2 280zx r200 cv axles). the suspensions look exactly the same, although i remember somebody telling me there are certain differences. Of course this is for the sedan with Independant Rear Suspension, not the wagons with a solid axle.
Parts that I swapped over from my 280zx - alternator, struts/shocks, steering wheel, rear rotors, .... that's all i can think of for now..
now if it's a diesel there might be more differences.
