1967 C10 Pick-Up
Question:

Anybody here know anything about Chevy C10 pick-ups?? The C10 is my husbands project and I was wondering what kind of rear end is recommended. We have a 350 Small Block, with a 4 speed Saginaw transmission. I am almost positive it is geared too high. Any recommendations??

Hopefully running again soon!!
Wish me luck!!
Answer:

I'm in my third year of restoring a 1986 Chevy Silverado K10 4X4 short bed pickup and I have found some good info here http://chevytruckworld.tenmagazines.com/ Some of the members have older pickups so you may get lucky.
Best of luck...
Had a 77 280Z and two 70 510 Wagons once upon a time...
Answer:

There are lots of formula's around for figuring out cruising speeds. You'll need to know rear tire diameter, transmission ratios and desired vehicle speed at a given rpm.
Another way might be to research Cameros and Firebirds in the 70's. You can see which cars came with the Saginaw's and what final drive they had.
Since the final drive is 1.00 in most 4 speeds, I'd think something in the 3:55 range would give a good combination of accelleration and performance.

Its the pedal on the right, use it or move over.
Answer:

I had a 65 C-10 with a 3 speed manual and a 350 sbc. It had a 4:11 rear in it and it was great on the highway and the track.
