I decided to check out the flywheel bolts that were mentioned here on the forum from ARP.
The bolt is for a toyota engine, no problem, but I don't think they are suitable for the nissan engines.
Nissan did a good job with their flywheel bolts. The base of the bolt is a flare type configuration, ideal for torqueing the flywheel, and they work very well for an aluminum flywheel because of the flare head configuration.
I just got the ARP bolts, they are a 12 point head, but there really is no base to the bolt, and would be a very bad fit for an aluminum flywheel. They could be used on the steel flywheel, but I don't think you are gaining any advantage to using the bolt. They cost 6.70 each, so about 40.00 for all six bolts.
I guess that is another 40.00 wasted, my recommendation, stay with the Nissan bolt, you can torque the thing to 140 foot pounds and use red locktight. Good to go.

wow thx for the info bc i was wondering if i should order new bolts for my alum flywheel to but now i know to stick with nissan flywheel bolts..thx again. saved me 40 bucks though ;)

I think I will do something on my webpage under the engine. I was hoping the ARP parts would work, but I'm not going to even try them, they will not work.
