*Warning* - '06 First Service - Potential ECU Issue
Question:
Just collected my '06 from its first service.
The ECU dump came up blank - which puzzled the dealer.
He contacted Lotus who told him my ECU needed a software upload.
It should have shown up when the dealer checked my vin number before starting the service but Lotus told him that some vin numbers had "slipped through the system".

If you have an '06 due for first service it might be worth asking the dealer to check with Lotus rather than just looking up the vin number as normal.

That is, of course, unless you don't want them to find out how many times you over-revved it.......
Answer:
Had my ECU reflased last month with 1000 mile service. It zeroed out the log file which they said was normal and lotus knew about. According to them it has no warranty reprocussions.

They must not have worked on many 06's, because this is pretty much normal.

Answer:
Same, they patched it since so they can read it now.
Answer:
This was a known issue with the '06's. Lotus furnished a software update and TSB to all dealers about the issue last April. Your dealer is definitely not up to speed on current Lotus factory bulletins.
Answer:
Thanks for the info.

Mine was the first '06 they had dealt with.
They installed the update and can read it now.

They told me that there would be no warranty issue.
I would have liked a printout just for my own interest.
