Well... as soon as I get moved, assuming I can find a 3-car in the city, I'll likely have a lift in the garage.
Answer:
A LIFT!?! awesome... so high tech

i've got a friend who lifts his lexus up with just the jack that comes with the car (no jack stands) and does his oil change... i told him to get some jack stands... and he says "what's a jack stand, i thought that's what i was using"

and then his friend doesn't even use a jack stand... he drives his car up a curb (just the front half) and then works on it...
Answer:
anyone else in the DFW area who got their 1000 mile service at overseas care to share their cost?

or is this like asking "how much you pay for that car?"
Answer:
just picked her up... feels the same... looks the same... but i won't drive it the same

Hey, I'm that guy - don't laugh too much, but I've used the curbs in my younger days.

Yeah - I've been pricing lifts and they seem reasonable. Finding a place with a big garage in this area might not be realistic though - I'd prefer a 5000 sq. ft. garage with an efficiency attached.

I'd guess we're all going to get nailed for about the same at Overseas. I was going to limp mine over on Saturday for a small list of warranty work until I realized they'd store it outside over the long weekend. I'd rather have it here so I can go out to the garage and look at it evey 15 minutes. I can't make the mileage until I get the alignment corrected and new tires, so I'm bummed that all I can do is sit in it and make engine noises for now.
Answer:
if you want to play...............you are going to pay. get used to it Bluejae. just wait until you need a part for the car.

Just got my 1000 mile service done at Overseas. $338 for a simple oil change. Didn't even do an ECU dump as they don't have the software yet. Ouch.

Told me I could swing by and have them dump it when they've got the software. If they try to charge me, I'm busting kneecaps.
Answer:
BlueJae,

That seems about the same cost i paid about a year ago when I had the Elise's 1,000 service. I' m to lazy to run and check my notes

Answer:
I paid a bit less for my 7500 last week at Overseas.
Answer:
You've got to change the oil yourself. All you need are a couple of wrenches, a set of rhino ramps, and about 30 minutes of time. I changed the oil at 1016 miles last Sunday in my Exige. It's one of the easiest oil changes you will ever do. I don't see any reason for spending 100s of dollars on something that takes less time for me to do myself than it does to drive the car to the dealer.
Answer:
Oh believe me, all the oil changes from here on out will be done by me.

Provided he can get his car up on the Rhino Ramps with that drop!

I know, it really won't be a problem - but his car is loooooooow!

I'm checking on that one too...

As best as we can tell, they're not in the parts book.
Answer:
If you guys can measure the diameter of the adjuster collars on the shocks, I've got an extra spanner you might be able to use. I think spanner I have is for 2-1/4" diameter collars.

You'll just have to fight for it... or share.

I hope this makes you feel a little bit better: My 1,000 Mi service tab was $533.91 which included the dreaded DRLs disablement. I have an Industrial Engineering background but I think I have two left hands when it comes to manual labor

You know I do. That is why I think so highly of Lotus of San Antonio.
