2006 ECU Dump
Question:
What's the word on the 2006 ECU dump?Do the dealers have the software yet, or is just going to read out zeroes? I am getting ready for my 1,000k service. I am doing the oil change myself, and looking at the service manual, everything else required for the 1000k service looks easy enough for me to do myself also. If my ECU dump is going to read all zeroes, what's the point in taking the car in for service if I can do everything else myself? Answer:
Not sure, maybe they know some of the common trouble zones typical to these cars and they check them. I've heard from a few people that their cars feel smoother after service, maybe just in their heads, who knows. I'm also against paying the dealer for little things I can do myself, it's just fun to do the small tunning and service, but I will take in at 1000 just to make sure everything is correct, these are still hand made cars and some tolerances and adjustments may need to be checked by the people who know.
Answer:
I had my 1000 miles service done a couple weeks ago. The service tech told me they had been waiting for the new software from Lotus for three months but it has not yet arrived. So at least at this dealer (Richmond, VA) at this time, there is no ECU dump for 2006s.

I agree shockwaves. I'll go through all of the things myself just familiarize myself with the car. I probably also take in for the service for the reasons you mention. It's more of a time issue for me to take the car in for service than it is an issue with paying high service costs. Answer:
depends when you got your car, if its more than a few months old its got the all zeros ECU software. they'll install the new ecu software so that next time it will work,.
Answer:
I had my first service done Friday. Damn, filters and oil are expensive!!! I know dealership bending us over right? Anyway, they did the headlight rings as well as a new ECM reflash???? Don't ask me cause I don't know what the hell was for. Only think I noticed was that car seemed louder, but that is most likely just me. My ECU dump has all zeros on it. So to answer the original question, no I don't think ever dealer has their software yet.
Answer:
The ECU will only begin recording *after* the update, so it'll still be zeros as it is reset when the car is reflashed.

I changed my oil myself on Sunday. I went with Red Line 5W40. After the oil change the car is much louder and the throttle response is much quicker. Answer:
My car was loaded with the new version of software last week that gives Lotusa valid log file. Answer:
