I donno for sure. The Sector111 weight reference page says 29 lbs, but they call that an "estimated weight":

Im sure if you reserached further you could find soneone who has removed and weighed it all.

Besides the compressor, there is the condensor, accumulator, and dryer, not to mention some other much lighter components generally regarded as too light / too difficult to remove to bother with.
Answer:
*the story I heard was that "it was decided" by Lotus brass years ago that the U.S. market would not accept the car without A/C
And they were correct. I don't think I'm alone in the opinion that this car would not be acceptable without A/C. It's my daily driver, and I live in southern California where, unless you're near the water, A/C is basic survival. Running errands in the valley or east side of LA in traffic in August with no A/C? No thanks!

Yes, I know there are many hard core A/C-is-for-wimps types out there, so don't flame me, please.

Q

EDIT: Dave, if you succeed in removing your A/C, I'll take it. If I could put two A/C systems in for an extra 30 pounds, I would.
