It was a source of lots of problems on early cars. Also check the contacts on the fluid level the master cylinder cap - some people have had trouble with that... There's also an issue with the wire shorting out in the console. Mine blinked for half a day and then never did it again. Do a search & you'll find my diagnosis and repair. You probably need to clean the switch in the brake reservoir.
