What brand oil filter has an anti-drain back valve?
Question:
Looks like the stock one does not. I have that terrible cold start rattle occasionally, and I'm thinking it may be due to no check valve in the filter. (allowing oil to leak down).
And if you have the part #, even better
Answer:
Canton racing billet spin on filters have anti drain back valve and no bypass. The housing stays on the car and just the 8 micron cartridge filter is replaced.
Answer:
25-262. Are you running full synthetic oil in a low viscosity?
Answer:
Since the filter hangs straight down off the motor, I doubt it drains down very much.

They have antidrain back valves. Which are actually less of a big deal on an engine with a vertically mounted filter such as ours. The occasional rattle may be the timing chain tensioner.

There are many good filters for our cars. The Mobil 1 209 and cousin K&N 2009 are both good and are larger. The Toyota filters are good too, especially the 90915...4, on the left.
