I've got the rattle described in other threads as the "bloody metallic rattle". My dealer has thus far been unsuccessful in solving the problem. I read in another thread that at least one person noted that after they installed an aftermarket exhaust, this rattle went away. I was considering upgrading my exhaust anyways, but I may step up the timeframe if it will solve this rattle. How many of you have had an exhaust swap solve this issue? I love this car, but dang is that rattle embarassing.

Jeremy Check to be sure that the heat-shield on the cat pipe u-bend is not rubbing on the diffuser. I had an embarrassing rattle that stopped only after the heat-shield had worn a hole in my diffuser. just noticed my diffuser with the same rubbing
im going to remove the cat that was probably me. what rattle do you have? mine was that loud BUZZZZZZZ from behind my head somwhere to the left. what has been described by others as the "bloody metallic rattle" I think is related to the tunnel/shift linkage/trans and not easily fixable.

Jeremy My rattle/buzz occurs on throttle off decceleration at about 2700 RPM which gets worse the more the car is warmed up. Hard to tell exactly where it is coming from, other than from behind me. I had the diffuser and bottom panel off the other day and I did not notice any contact marks on either. I suppose I should take another look.

Jeremy sounds like the same one I had then. I don't know, my arqray twin muffler has so much less drone than stock it might have been just enough to stop the buzz. I have never had it again it 2k miles with the arqray.

Jeremy I was actually looking at the arquay single tip. Can anyone comment on a similar lack of drone from this model? Thanks.

Jeremy On mine that shiny bumpy exhaust shield makes a loud vibrating sound around 3k rpm. Confirmed by watching it closely with the wheel off while a friend slowly raises the engine speed.

Been wanting to remove it - or secure it better. Anyway - sounds similar to what you're describing.
