1,000 mile service done - even more fun now
Question:
I believe that is from the UK version of the manual. The labor is not free here.
As other's have said, that's from the UK section of the manual. It used to be Lotus policy that the first service was on them. Then the dollar value took a dive, and I suspect that eliminating the "free" service was one of the ways to cut costs for them. In any case, we get to pay for the first service, although if you really want someone else to do the work, you can just have the Lotus dealer do the data dump for you at no cost. The rest of the service you will have to pay for. I don't know of anybody that actually didn't have the dealer do the first service - although I usually do my own maintenance, I did pay for the first service...
Answer:
I thought this was new and Lotus was being generous. Oh well. I will be in for a surprise I guess when I bring mine to the dealer for the 1000 mile service as they are new Lotus dealer. I do not want to be the guinea pig though. Water in lamps.
