2003 Celica wiper blade insert success!
Question:
Get the drivers side wiper blade insert as a replacement for the original insert. Excellent fit, and only 7$ at my local Toyota dealer.
Answer:
No, but thank you very much.
Answer:
No, but thank you very much. Am I missing something? Does it not work?
Answer:
If it's just the insert, why not? You just remove the rubber part of the blade and replace it with the new insert. You shouldn't even have to use a $7 Toyota part, any proper length refill from a typical auto parts store (or even Wal-Mart) will do the job. There's nothing unique about the rubber insert on the Elise.
Answer:
except that apparently in many cars it does not make good contact with the glass
Answer:
except that apparently in many cars it does not make good contact with the glass If the blade isn't making good contact with the glass, it's probably in backward. If the clip that retains the rubber in the blade is on the outside, the rubber will slide outward as a result of the forces when the arm is moving. This causes the rubber to bunch up and not work properly. Reverse the rubber insert in the blade (the clip toward the center), and the forces cause the rubber to "stretch" and not bunch up. It works just fine in that configuration.

So, if your OEM wiper is not working well, which end has the rubber clip?
