Base wheels w/AD07 tires, 6500 miles on them, no track or auto/x.
Question:
I have a set of base wheels w/AD07's to sell. 6500 miles on them, wheels are perfect. Tires have not been tracked or autocrossed, only driven on street. I'll sell the set for $1000

Prefer pick up in San Diego (I'm in Del Mar area), but can ship on your nickel via UPS or FedEx ground if needed. It's pretty cheap. Something like $125 across the country I believe.

Btw, if you pick up in San Diego, I'm taking you for Carne Asada at Roberto's in Del Mar as a bonus!

FREE: I'll include the OE lug set (with locks) to the first buyer. This way you have spares in case you ever lose or damage a lug bolt.

Also, I'll include the OE Lotus logo centercaps as well. But Robertos down-there is awesome. I can't recall the name of the other place I used to frequent, but they had a good california burrito (think that was the name.. with carne-asada with potato/fries).

Man... those were the days.

Good luck on the sale. Yep, that's Roberto's. A buddy of mine only eats those Cal Burritos at Roberto's. Don't forget the sour cream in those too! I'll try one sometime, but I have to do it when I can run 10 miles afterward! Okay, I'm upping the ante...a Carne Asada burrito AND a California Burrito! It's INSANE!!! Like a dream come true!

Free Burrito bump!

I'm guessing they do not come with red or green chile, and that you guys don't even know what that is!

From my vast experience (not really), there are only 2 states, Colorado and New Mexico, that actually use red and green chile sauce/smothering. I've heard that a small part of Arizona does also.

Those who have had red or green, know what a burrito should taste like; and a burrito without Red or Green is really not a burrito.

If you guys ever come out my way I have about a 100 choices for some real burritos.

Back to the wheels. Super D, that is a great price, I would take them if they fit on my car; unfortunately I have the AP Racing big brake kit on the front. This is a great deal for anyone looking for the touring wheels......er, I mean base wheels. You are also including the center caps and lug nuts? One who is looking for these wheels would be an idiot not to buy them from you; you deserve another free bump. Thanks for bumpage. I'm a wimp with mexican food spices, so I'm definitely the wrong guy to ask. Strange thing is I'm okay w/asian spices... Back to the wheels. Super D, that is a great price, I would take them if they fit on my car; unfortunately I have the AP Racing big brake kit on the front.
Could run a spacer like some do. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink... Could run a spacer like some do. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink...
I don't know if that would work, or that I would want to do that. With my ToyBox wheels, which were made to work with the AP brake kit, there is about 1-2 mm of clearance between the wheel and caliper. Thinking back to the stock wheels (which I sold) I think it would take a very big spacer to make this work, and then there might be issues with the studs; I don't know, I'm not an expert in this area.

Basically, I don't like the idea of "making" it work. If I thought that it would work properly and safely, I would not have sold my base wheels in the first place.

Also, with the amazing braking capability of the AP Racing brake kit, I don't think I would want a 175 tire up front, kind of defeats the purpose. I currently have 215 Falken RT-615's up front.

Anybody else care to comment on the spacer required to make this work and the disadvantages of doing this?

BTW, this is a great deal, somebody should jump on this! I'm not a huge fan of spacers in theory, but I know plenty of racers and guys with huge power (and expensive) vehicles running them with zero prob's. Ideally, you want a custom-made wheel for the application. But even when changing to different tires, sometimes a little track width tuning w/spacers seems like a smart move (depending on the width and contact area of the tire), provided you've got the proper interface and enough thread (maybe with studs like you mentioned). I've almost always run custom wheels on sports cars, but now I'm going to start playing with spacers a bit this year. In any case, I see your point and you've got a good integrated setup. This OE wheel set can take 195's up front from what I'm told, so if someone wants to run the Sport tire setup on track, I'm thinking it might be a good affordable wheel option. Thanks for the bump and good commentary. I may drive down for the burritos from Norcal if this keeps going on.

Still have the rims? I am interested. I live in Portland, OR however, so I would have to pass on the lunch. Still have the rims? I am interested. Yep, first come, first served! Burritos are for local pick-up only, so if you buy, I'll give you a BIOU for when you come to SD.

PM me and we'll share contact info.

Dave Just out of curiosity, I called the local Lotus dealer parts dept to get an idea what they sell the base wheels/tires for. The cost I got was as follows:

(Not incl. Mount/Bal)
$2297.94 wheels/tires
$178.09 tax
+
$96 centercaps
$45 12 lugs
$69 lock/key kit

That's a lot of pesos! I took pics today. The wheels are excellent and the tires have LOTS of tread. The car was driven conservatively and you can tell it hasn't been cornered hard, just used for cruising.

Here are the rears, the front pics will be in the next post. Here are the fronts. If so check your pm If so check your pm
Shot you back a PM. One person in line in front of you. He's getting back to me by tomorrow night. If he doesn't get 'em, you're up next.
