Hey All!
I have one of these shirts and it is great! Champion T with excellent embroidery. Great value at $17, I've paid double that for a concert T-shirt. You better hurry cause I'm ordering some more. Now if i can get him to make one that is yellow with grey stripes. Thanks for the plug...just wait until you see the letterman jacket I've ordered which arrives later this month! I can also do portfolio shoulder bags, nylon/fleece blankets, just to name a couple things... which run about $30 and includes the embroidery. Even custom mats for the garage! I have a couple of the shirts as well. They are excellent quality. do they come in other colors than black? i want one in yellow. the deseert is hot enough w/o black t-shirts on.
let me know, i will order some That's a pretty good price if these are Lotus licensed logo shirts... Paypal'd ! To go along with what Dave said,

Have you gotten an okay from Lotus to use the LOGO and market those shirts?
I don't care one way or another, but if Lotus catches wind of it you could be hearing from them in a not nice way.
past experience at work here. That's a pretty good price if these are Lotus licensed logo shirts... I would doubt that. Good for him for making the tshirts.

Lotus should be happy...it is like free advertising for them.

Its sad they do not offer a great line of clothing/accessories like porsche and ferrari...what is an enthusiast to do? do they come in other colors than black? i want one in yellow. the deseert is hot enough w/o black t-shirts on.

Right now I have only ordered black. We have a number of other colors and if you'd like prices on specific quantities, let me know. Even have Dri-Fit moisture management polos that wick away moisture which would be great for you sun lovers! Those run right around $40. I agree about the licensing. I had originally planned on having my wife make some for sale as well, but we're not willing to risk being sued by Lotus. Last company I want to piss off since I love their products so much That's a pretty good price if these are Lotus licensed logo shirts...
****No, these are not official Lotus licenced T's. I have given the same T's to the dealer where I purchased my Lotus and they liked them but cannot "officially" sell them alongside their Lotus product. I see these as being similar to the Lotus Sport logos Sweet Daddy has made for us. If you feel this is in poor taste, please PM me. If enough of you feel it's not worth the trouble, I'll gladly pull the thread. I initially had the embroidery work done for personal use so I can understand if the group of you has reservations. I will trust your collective judgement. ****No, these are not official Lotus licenced T's. Hard to say where they stand, advertising for them or competition for Group Lotus, who knows. what are the measurements (chest, shoulder and length) of the S and M shirts?
thanks. what are the measurements (chest, shoulder and length) of the S and M shirts?
thanks.
Not sure how I'd determine that...the chest anyway. The small fits my 9 year old and is a bit big and a bit long. My 14 year old is tall, skinny and wears a M. I'll take a closer look and PM you. Good for him for making the tshirts.

What to do?

Ask them first, if you want to follow the rules. I see about three different answers they could give:
a) No.
b) Yes but follow these rules.
c) Yes, but follow these rules and pay us this much of the proceeds.

All three answers protect their valuable trademark. Which one they pick depends on how how cool they are and how much money every one else pays them to play by the rules.

Some companies are very cool about "You can use our trademark in only these ways, and only for these purposes. We'll sue to oblivion if you violate these rules, but otherwise go nuts." Other companies are a pain to deal with. Others will say something like, "No. The cost for our IP lawyer to review your proposal is more than we could ever gain from such a low volume, low exposure request. " That is if they give you a reason at all. I understand...being in this business is intesesting though. I have had certain designs copyrighted and another vendor has simply changed 20% of the graphic and been fine. Slightly annoying but if that 20% rule applies, might as well use it. I'm not at all well versed in the legal aspects of this stuff. Its sad they do not offer a great line of clothing/accessories like porsche and ferrari...what is an enthusiast to do?
Griot's Garage makes and sells shirts exactly like these, but are licensed by Lotus to do so. I have two of them and they are very nice.

It's ironic showing your alegiance or admiration for a company with a knock-off, isn't it? I understand...being in this business is intesesting though.
