Race Technologies (Data Logger) GROUP BUY
Question:
David, from Race Technology, assured me that they will accept any orders placed through Monday morning, GMT, so do NOT worry. Any orders placed over the weekend will be honored.Yours truly, Christopher (aka Twin) PS: now that I've arranged for all of you to save $200 on this very cool device, pls. remember me the next time I get flamed on the boards... OK. I odered under the group buy yesterday (Sat.). Hope there is no problem with getting the discount. PS: now that I've arranged for all of you to save $200 on this very cool device, pls. remember me the next time I get flamed on the boards... Chris - I truly hope that you arranged to get a free one for yourself (or for a very large discount). Thanks. This has taken a huge amount of time -- way more than I had expected, particularly given that the Group Buy's been listed on multiple boards -- certainly far more than $200 in savings would justify, unless I'm working for pennies on the hour. I figure that I'll pay the same as everyone else for the DL-1, but I might go back to ask David about throwing a Dash2 my way for the trouble. But it's been fun to see how the deal's played out. NSX owners, for example, don't seem to track their cars. A thread on NSXPrime about some goofy showy carbon-fiber part has some 11,000+ views and four pages of replies, whereas the DL-1 Group Buy got only 300+ views (most of which were mine, checking the thread to see if I needed to respond to anything) and 1 post from another board member. The SCCA guys do not permit the posting of Group Buys, but they're an amenable lot and left the offer up for over a week. Honda's S2000 seems to have become something of the entry-level serious trackcar-of-choice for many, given how many orders were placed through it. Interesting. Merry, merry (and, yes, DGL330, you'll get the discount), Twin Done Both you and Stan deserve some part time sales positions. I have been eyeing their gear for a number of years, this was enough of an opportunity to jump in. Thanks Guys! NSX owners, for example, don't seem to track their cars. Very true, mostly waxers. Put one into the wall and you probably bought an Elise. Saw one go into the tire wall hard in turn 6 at the Glen. Had to pump his brakes for the bus stop but kept driving. Putz! The cost of fixing all that aluminum body work, magnesium front a-arms, etc. was rumored to be a fortune. Thanks again for the great effort Chris. I picked this thread up off of miata net. I tried to order a DASH2 last friday, but the website does not allow orders for that unit. Someone said a DASH2 had been sold in a thread (somewhere) earlier. I emailed sales@RT about the problem on friday. Is there any information avaliable on how to order the DASH2? THX247, I can't help you with this, but I am virtually certain that your email will prompt Race Technology to resolve the issue for you. If you indicated that you wish to purchase the D2 under the GB, then they will honor the price, even if it takes a few days and an exchange of emails to get it all sorted out. CB IMPORTANT: the Race Technology Group Buy closes at midnight tonight, EST, (that's 9PM for us west coasters), Monday, 5 December. Orders placed up until that time will be honored at the Group Buy prices. Afterwards, if you want the products, expect to pay full freight. No exceptions. The Group Buy has been wildly successful -- we do not have a final count of products ordered, but everyone who ordered the DL-1 will receive a 20% discount. We're still working on counts for the Dash1 and Dash2 displays, but (per the terms of the Group Buy) you'll see at least a 10% discount, possibly a 15% discount. We'll know more once the counts are in. Thank you all for your participation -- I hope the products bring you much pleasure (and faster lap times). Merry, merry, CBender/Evil Twin The Group Buy has now closed. My apologies if you missed it, but per our agreement with Race Technologies, orders placed after midnight, EST, yesterday (Monday, December 5) are not eligible for the Group Buy pricing. For those of you who did participate, pls. be patient, as the Group Buy was hugely successful and it'll take the company a few days to get all the orders logged and processed before they can begin shipping. Best, CB/Twin David tells me that the Group Buy proved overwhelmingly successful, with something like 51 DL-1 units sold (wow!), 10 Dash1 displays sold, and 3 Dash2 displays sold. Thus: * DL-1 buyers should see a 20% discount on the retail price, can expect to pay about $772, and will pocket $193 in savings. * Dash1 buyers should see a 15% discount, can expect to pay about $574, and will pocket $101 in savings. * Dash2 buyers should see a 10% discount, can expect to pay about $868, and will pocket $97 in savings. That's assuming my quick math is correct, but you get the picture. Now, be advised that a few buyers have been charged full freight on their orders. No worries. Race Technology is in the process of issuing credits to fix this. The reasons for this include (i) some buyers requested expedited shipping before the GB closed (and before the discounts were known), (ii) some buyers failed to note they were GB participants in their orders (Race Technology is honoring the GB prices for those buyers anyway), and (iii) at least one buyer purchased their products from the company's UK online webstore, and the order slipped through unnoticed. Again, no worries. If you've been charged the wrong amount simply email David to bring it to his attention (although he's likely already caught the error). His email address is sales@race-technology.com. Merry, merry, everyone. CB Damn, I read this too late... Has an invoice been sent by email or regular mail? How do I know what I've been charged or if I'm one of the one's that made a booboo? Love that discount! Thanks again Chris! The odds of your being charged full freight are very low (only a few folks fall into this category), but PM me your name, and I'll look you up. You should have gotten an invoice by email (at full freight) when you plced your order. Not sure you'll see another. Heads Up: Don't even try to load the software on the disk. Would not load for several reasons (XP) on my computer. Besides, it's V5. V6 is on the main site for download as of yesterday. http://www.race-technology.com/WebPa...twareHome.html I ordered the DL-1 with the group buy and haven't got it yet, anyone else still waiting? Yes! I am waiting as well. Nothing yet, but they did acknowledge receipt of order. No worries. I'm in the same boat. I think RT was a bit surprised (and overwhelmed) by the volume of orders placed through the GB. I've not heard from them in a while, either. Twin My DL1 showed up before Christmas! My credit card was billed with the correct (discounted) amount, and everything appears to be in order. Got my first chance to use it in anger yesterday out at Firebird Main near Phoenix. Seems to work great!.. Many thanks to ET for putting this together... Hopefully you guys will get yours soon, although I don't think a call to their customer service desk would be out of line at this point.
