Looking for Stock Exhaust
Question:
I just purchased a used AR Elise with the QS exhaust. It's not the loudness that I don't like, but the drone of the exhaust. Can't stand the drone. Drives me batty.

Anyway I'd like to go back to a stock exhaust for now. Where could I find a stock exhaust (take-off not new) and what is a reasonable price?

I'm in Fredericksburg, VA (22406).

Danke.

Jim B. I bought a car from Lyndaelise and Tprado down in Miami. They had the stock exhaust and offered it to me but I did not have room to haul it back. I will email them and see if they still have it. OK, are there any special hangers or washers or clamps (or whatever) that I need to reinstall the stock exhaust that won't directly transfer over (take off) from the QS exhaust? You don't need anything from the QS exhaust. You may need a clamp if it was removed from the stock exhaust, which is not likely. sent you an e-mail Fox Valley in Chicago had 5 for sale.

I would go to a Lotus Level 1 Sports instead of stock. Easy to live with in a daily driver. I thought about a Level 1 instead of stock. However, I figured I could get a stock exhaust dirt cheap or at least significantly less than a Level 1. After my drone-filled experience with the QS, I'm going to "audition" any aftermarket exhaust (while going for a ride in someone elses car) prior to purchase.

Right now, I'm looking for cheap and drone-free. I'll regroup later for a more quality snarl and it must be completely drone free.

I'd consider a twin muffler Arqray in the future, but before dropping that kinda jing ($$$), I need to hear it myself. The stock is not drone free. It drones on deceleration. More noticeable with the hardtop on. i live in stafford virginia and will sell you my stock exhaust, the car has 500 miles on it pls call my cell 540 846 3133 In a lot of non-acceleration situations the stock exhaust has more drone than the QS. I haven't heard one, but it sounds like the Aqray Twin is what you want. You can sell the QS to offset the cost a bit... I agree with JWA. Don't go back to stock. I had stock, switched to the QS, but it droned too much with the hard top on for my wife. Replaced it with the Arqray Twin Muffler. It's perfect. Blue,

TONS of people around here have stock exhausts. You should be able to get one for pennies, I believe, as long as you are willing to pay the shipping. I remember a whole bunch of people came out of the woodwork with offers last time this request was posted!
