Feathering on 2004.5's????????? Anyone with a 04.5 please inform me with some posts regarding your Z and the tires. Do you have feathering? If so, what mileage? Thanks, Solidus.

I would say front about 2 yrs if no feathering, rear about 1 yr. 10k - 15k per yr.

I have a 2004.5 and had the front tires swapped and got an alignment at 5000 miles. At 7500 miles today, I'm starting to notice the roar when slowing. I'm sure by 10K it will be back in full force.

I have a early production 2004 touring, and i noticed the tire roar at slow speeds and stopping at about 16,500 miles called nissan and got no help.Then i called the dealer and sounds like i will get some new tires and front alignment done.



my 04 enthuse was built mid-summer 04, it' just turn the 5k mark. no feathering yet.

That the same problem I've seen. Nissan won't authorize the replacement and the dealer won't do it and eat the cost of the tires. I let them do the swap in hope that by the time I need it again, they will have a TSB for the 2004s like that for the 2003s.

Solidus , stick your hand under the front fenderwell on top of the tire and to the inside edge, now rub to the front then the rear on the tire.......
feel that? yes......that's it, a strange saw type feeling up n down action.(one side higher than the other)..feathering

btw, you will be able to feel it Alot sooner than you'll hear it

I have an 04 (built in feb or march) and noticed the noise at about 12,000miles. Dealer would do nothing but rotate the front tires. I have 16,000 miles now and still hear the roar from the tires. Gave the car to my girlfriend and now I drive her nice and quiet prelude. Tire noise doesn't bother her a bit.

Build date 04/2004, 12,000 miles.

No hint of feathering or unusual tire wear. You guys got me so paranoid that I check my tires every couple of days.

I had to replace both front tires at 10,000 miles....had no idea about this problem until yesterday.....also paid Nissan to have it aligned and they never mention this......
