omg i can't believe the difference in my ride since replacing my tires today with the michelin pilots 17inch factory sizes. i thought i didn't have feathering or road noise maybe a little at 29k. well i had 24k on the front tires which were kuhmo's and 29k on the rears potenza's. i had to replace my front tires early on with kuhmo's due to a road hazard.
well anyhow i can't remember when my ride has been so smooth and quiet. i was trying to get the goodyear F1's but they were totally back ordered. i love my z even more. tomorrow i'm going for the nismo s-tune. i will be faxing my info to nissan tonight for a reimbursement for the tires. i'll let you know how it turns out. almost 100% sure i will get a check. they paid for the first set of fronts with the same info. i'll let you all know how i make out. if anyone has any comments please have at it.

The hell you say. I am getting the free replacement Potenzas next Tues. under the recall. I hope I get similar results to yours. Of course I'm sure I will, at first, anyway. They told me when they ordered them that the replacement tires are supposed to have a new tread design that resists feathering. And of course they are going to do the realignment per the TSB new spec. I know that doesn't always solve the problem. Don't get me wrong, I love my 350Z more everyday, but I do hope they get this uneven wear tire noise thing corrected. But people are saying I may have to go to a v tread tire design and get real mechanics do my alignment. If push comes to shove I'll do that cause no way am I giving up my Z. She's a keeper even if she does have this prob with shoes. I had a horse like that once. ha. Good Luck! I hope we can solve this issue.

You say that you will be faxing your info to Nissan to get a reimbursment for your Michelins. How are you getting them to do that for you exactly? I just ordered a set of Michelin Pilot's as well. I'd like to know if I can also get an reimbursment as well.

Homeiz, i used the checklist for "Reimbursement or Prior Front Tire Replacement" i used this same form the first time i had to change tires. you should have received one from nissan a while ago. is your z an 03? anyhow basically you photo copy your registration, receipt for tires and fax the form which has minimal info on it to 13107712775. the first time i faxed them early 04 i did get a response back right away however i have not heard back from them yet. reminds me i need to give them a call.
