Anybody seen the US-spec Nismo body kit that Nissan dealers are selling? I had not heard about it and it's not on Nissan's website (odd!).

A customer of ours who just purchased an '04 base silverstone bought the kit (it is sold peice by peice) from a west coast Nissan dealer. It is different from the Japanese kit you've seen pics of:

1. Front is just an add-on lip spoiler rather than a whole new bumper cover. It does not modify the grille opening like the Japanese-spec kit. Lip spoiler is rediculously difficult to install requiring the use of templates and much drilling. Greddy lip spoiler just goes on with 2-sided tape and 4 self-tapping screws and fits nicely.

2. Side skirts are direct clip-on replacement of factory units. The bulges seem more exaggerated than the J-spec kit.

3. Rear skirts on back bumper appear to be just like J-spec (drill and bolt on).

4. Rear gate spoiler is made in USA of ABS plastic (not fiberglass!) and is primed. The wing section is shaped differently from J-spec, does not droop down on ends as much and isn't as aerodynamically shaped in my opinion.... does not look as good.

All parts come with detailed installation instructions, templates for drilling as needed and all hardware... I wouldn't attempt installing any of them other than the side skirts perhaps, unless you're familiar with body kit installation and OK with drilling holes in your car.

Yes, I have seen the U.S. spec Nismo kit. You are correct in the differences between the U.S. and JDM kits. This kit can be ordered from Performance Nissan and probably other places as well. To view the parts and pieces of the kit, go to:
