Advice: Don't bother with Track Pack
Question:
I switched out my track-pack coil-overs with Ohlins track 2-way adjustables. This is on my Exige which sees mostly track-duty. What a difference! There is much less body roll, and cornering is much more predictable. The Lotus track-pack spring rates are too low, and it uses progressive rate springs! Yuck. So, if you are undecided on the Lotus track pack, my advice is forget it. Buy your own coil-overs and add a harness bar. The Lotus TP is not good enough if you track your car. Answer:
plus, from what i hear, the track pack rear toe end link brace is crap also. seems much better to pass on the track pack, and buy your own aftermarket stuff instead.
Answer:
Yeah, well... some of us realized that after placing our orders...Answer:
I just finished adding my own version of the track pack onto an 05 non-LSS car and I could not be happier with the results, and the Ohlins. It totalled about the same $$ but I really think that I made a better quality package.
Answer:
Can I trade someone with a track pack for a sports pack??? PLEASE?!?!?! I'd love to be able to corner balance and lower in SS. Of course any '06 will work.
Answer:
Yeah, well... some of us realized that after placing our orders...I am in that same boat. In fact, I turned down cheaper and earlier cars that didn't have track-pack. That was a mistake. I'm hoping this may help the next buyer... Answer:
I am very happy with my Track Pack and I think it is good value at $2,500, to each his own

I think its just that the aftermarkets are sooo much better for competition and hes just saying that if you are thinking about changing them anyways to just not get that pack...right?

Right. If you intend to track your car hard, the Lotus TP is not really that great. The aftermarket coil overs are better. If you have the Lotus TP, don't sweat it. But if you are on the fence about getting a car with or without it, I say just get the aftermarket parts. I thought the Lotus TP was good too, until I drove a friend's car on the track with Nitrons Answer:

$#itty. But thanks for asking! I'm planning on grabbing a new one this weekend before the run... I'll install it later... and if Randy ever emails me the file about battery relocation to the front compartment.... ( Randy) I'm either going to put the new battery in the front compartment or right behind the seats. I may eventually cut the trunk out entirely, not sure. I was not happy with how hot it got back there at Buttonwillow. I'm going to try removing the rear panel to see if that lowers temps some next time out, along with a single-tip arqray and cat delete. If it still feels like it's going to catch fire back there, then the trunk gets cut out. Part of the fun of being the first to try something new, I suppose. Oh, and I know your favorite part of the battery escapade is that you get to tell people you lapped me. Try not to forget to mention that I was sitting still on the side of the track at the time. Answer:
anybody interested in a stock "Group" size gel cell or is that old news here?
Answer:
raygr, you got pm.

I test drove the track pack and liked it better (on the street) than either the sport or standard cars that I've owned. I'd be supprised if it wasn't better on the track, too.Would I have gotten it if I had it to do over again? Sure, why not (would have saved the cost tof the harness bar, too). Is it worth it to spend over $3,000 to upgrade my LSS? I'm still thinking about it .... Will this fit? 16x7 +29 17x7.5 +33 Work Emotion CR Kai Works vs-xx installed Would my wheels be used?
