17/18 wheels anyone?
Question:
Has anyone tried 17/18" wheel combo? Any input would greatly be appreciated.
Answer:
Not a good idea, as the larger tires may not reach the correct operating temp. This type of "improvement" is not suggested for a car like the Elise.
Answer:
I have 17 inch wheels at the front and 18 in the back. 215/45-17 and 235/40-18. Dunlop Direzza R-tires. Looks fantastic and grip is even more fantastic! With Nitron Dampers the roadholding on the racetrack is unbeatable! Now i'm just waiting to get some more power. Going to put in a 220 hp k-series engine the following week.
Bought the wheels from germany www.komo-tec.de
Answer:
Goose, the tires for the larger diameter wheels won't have any greater surface area -- just the wheels get larger.
Answer:
Very cool looking wheels. Do you have any specs?
