FD Alloy wheels fits to FC turbo?? Wanting to do a Fairlady 3 rotor turbo and need some insight.? Car wont rev smooth after pfc install??
What Single Turbo is best????
I have a 1993 Fd with a fresh street port motor and all the supporting mods to go with it. My stock twins a starting to leak bad on 12 and 15 pounds of boost. I want a single turbo that will give me a great low end boost with quick spool up, but also want around 450-500 RWHP too. Please give me some suggestions for this set up?? Thanks Chad There are alot of options out there...just search. Also what do you plan on running for boost? T4 GT35R from A-spec or the GR63 from Gotham Racing. Good low end spool, certainly capable of 450 rwhp given c16-supported boost levels. yes, there are a few choices out there. for the best help, i think you need to be a little more specific in the criteria you consider to define "great low end boost with quick spool up" as that's completely subjective. look at A-Spec, Rx7Store and also check with Rich (Goodfella) and Ihor (RotaryExperiment) - [i think i totally butchered their screennames, but they're not hard to find] :). EDIT: oops! there goes Rich (above). should have refreshed my screen before typing my response. I've seen the GR63 kits spool up really fast and streetable. gt35 or aspec 500r. maybe even a t04z I'll weigh in here, 35R for sure... reasonable spool time, good power capabilities, all around great turbo if you're not looking for a dyno queen. it depends, do you actually live in Evansville, or in the area surrounding it? ;) If you live in evansville, then the gt35r is your best bet, great for stop light to stop light especially if you pull, bebuild and port your motor (Oh and per my mantra go T4 housing only, PM me for my thoughts) now if you lived in sullivan county where 99% of the cops are total asswipes, then I would suggest one with a little more top end to disabuse them of their ability to box you in...maybe the 500r :naughty: god I miss home sometimes....then I think about the jackass cops and just laugh about it  kenn
FD Alloy wheels fits to FC turbo?
FD Alloy wheels fits to FC turbo? Hello, I have possibility to buy original alloy wheels from FD. The question is - if they will fit to my FC turbo model from 1991 signed 7JJ with tires 205/55R16? yes, they will fit. Thank you. How about tires... It is possible to use my 205/55 because on original FD wheels are 225/50 I guess? FD wheels are 16x8+50mm one of the FC gurus will have to chime in as to whether you will require spacers to avoid clearance problems as for tire size, 205 is a bit narrow for a 8". you could run it if you don't have any issue with stretching the tire. Info here: Thank you for fast answers. Greetings
Wanting to do a Fairlady 3 rotor turbo and need some insight.
Hey guys, I know this has been done before but searching the forum couldn't fint anyone here that did it unless I've been looking at things wrong. I would like to do a 3 rotor conversion on it as the title states. Also do all the early 240z/260z/280z share the same body and suspension? What about interior? Also how easily would it be adapted on there? I'm trying to find a good body in the time being and just place it in storage till I have the time to play around with things My FB still needs much attention. A little of my backround on my FB to see what i'm trying to achieve: 85 GSL 12a SP Fully repainted body inside out IRTB in a sidedraft. All interior redone to 2 shades of tan. Lots of powder coated goodies in the engine bay Rack and pinion T2 Brakes Camber So basically the lot ... and the fairlady will get the same attention. Shoot it up and with any pictures you have too. Even though the 280z was my first favorite car, I'd rather do a 20B in a 1st gen. I can help you with that, but I don't know anything about the z cars. Try to find a 240 early 260s they where the lighest The 280s have the big truck bumpers=more weight. The rear ends got bigger in the 280s r200 I think but can be easly swapped into the 240s. btw I have a nice set of metal FairladyZ emblems off a 240 that I brough back years ago. I might sell them So the 240 is the lightest cool, I'll keep that in mind, do you know actual weight difference? I like the idea and think it would be an awesome car. Keep in mind though that it will be a ton of work and probably not very easy to sell when you are done. A small block Chevy is a popular conversion for the Z cars. It is quick, simple, cheap and very easy to sell when you are done. The same work/effort into a third gen would make it very easy to sell, perhaps even at a profit. You will loose money on the Z car swap. I know you are thinking right now that you will never sell it but take it from someone who knows, there is always another project in line when you finish. Save yourself the trouble and money and just buy a turbo rotary Porsche 911. I could have sold my car a hundred times over if I had gone the small block Chevy route and even made a profit. I agree. Don't put a 20B in a z car. Do you have a 20B yet? Are you lookng forward to spending 4500 on an engine that needs a rebuild? A 1st gen or heaven forbid even a 2nd gen would be a lot cooler and far more sellable when you're done. PercentSevenC wanted to do a 4 rotor in a z car. I think I talked him out of it. If you must get a z car, either build the straight six or do a chevy V8. lol 3 rotor in a Z, so I'm guessing it's gonna be a show car if you ever finished the project...(that 240z is light man, even when you throw a v8 in that pos you'll never gain traction again and that's just in neutral!) Thanks for the feed back guys, and I do understand loosing money, and actually I was looking at 2 engine swaps for it ... either the turbo 3 rotor, or an inline 6 rb20/rb26 engine with also turbo. I'm just trying to figure out what would be nicest to do. There's a guy here in Los Angeles that does an RB26DETT conversion in old 240's....around $6000 I believe. That is the shit. yeah not in a Z. That's like dropping an LS1 in a 7. Put that in an SA or RX-3. If you must get a z car, either build the straight six or do a chevy V8. lmao that one 13BT powered Starion listed on ebay had no bids on it. :sadwavey: If you're serious, contact Doug at Fairlady Z Motors in Tacoma, WA. He can give you information about Z cars that you wouldn't believe. And the most impressive part is that it's stored in his head!!! 253-565-9823 thanks ^ might just give him a call about that. What have you decided?
