I changed oil this weekend and was taking pics for documentation purposes.
Then I realized that there was something different.
I bought a few cases of this oil at Sam's Club, on two different occasions.
ive read about that on here before, but dont remember enough about it to comment one way or the other.
I think what you read about before was whether or not M1 was still fully synthetic.
It looks there like they just changed the bottle. Are the SKU numbers the same?
Mine look like the one on the right.

you may be right, i honestly cant remember.
one says european car formula
make sure the part # is the same. I noticed a different label on the 5-30, but all the #'s matched.... they may have just changed the design.
APS TT 408 install progress

So it has begun!!!
I would like to take this time to thank all the Vegas Goats that came to give me a helping hand.
I am putting in a fully built 408 with APS TT 2nd gen kit.
I spared no expense everything going into that motor is pretty much race parts.
Crank is the Callies Magnum XL crank

I plan on cranking up the boost pretty high street 15lbs at track 20-25lbs I won't do the track boost until I have a really solid rear end still trying to figure out what I am going to do there.
Here is the progress of what has happened so far. New motor to come later this week or next week at the latest.

The tear down was the easy part, now about that buildup. Personally, I would build what you got in the rear with at least some 3.71s and built half-shafts. Have you checked out one of the sponsors Difftechnics?

you sure those are Mahle pistons? look like Diamond IBF turbo pistons to me :confused:
Make sure to get some HD stock height springs for your car. My GTO is nearly dragging its front end with APS twins and iron block.
I got the Pedders Track II Zero drop front end.
I will check with him to see what type of pistons he used he might have changed his mind from the last time we talked.
Diamond racing "inboard forged" pistons are their top of the line product.
i'd take them over mahle pistons anyday.

I hope that the motor gets done later this week and we can start the install this weekend so I can be there on the 16th for the car show.
Pushrods should be here by Friday so I guess I will be working on the motor install this weekend if not then next weekend.
That motor is looking sick! It should love the twins.
That's some nice hardware my friend. Should be one hell of a screamer when it's done. I hope you will have a better clutch and have the trans built soon.

Well you do have a brand new clutch, since it never got installed. Now you just need the trans built.
Yeah I have a brand NEW McCleod street twin disc clutch that I am going to install when everything goes back together.
Yeah the only things I need are built tranny, upgraded parts for the rear end (probably complete Diffetechs setup 9' pumpkin, stub to hub setup), and rear end pedders suspension.

Thanks ecetim!!! I just wish I had that kind of cash to buy it plus I think he would want something local versus shipping because to ship the entire rear cradle has got to cost some $$$.

Very nice project and your car is going to be a monster when completed. I will definately be following the progress.
I got the Nasty Performance Stage 1 Race fuel system kit with the 83lbhr injectors. If you google it you will see it under custom fuel systems. I would have went with the APS twin intake system if it were out when I was buying stuff but what I have will be more than enough for what I am doing.
My goal for this project is to hit 1000RWHP.
Oh on a side note I think I found someone local to buy my motor and trans thanks to RICK ( THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!! ). So I think I will be able to buy the fully built Viper/Vette (new Z06) geared tranny with hardened mainshaft from RPM Transmissions stage V (possibly micropolished and cryogen cured). I will post up when I make up my mind.

Well i put slp ud pulley, 160 thermo, coated kooks lt's and catted mids, k&n cai and slp predator 455 tune.. Now heres the questions?
1.My gas mileage has been dramatically reduced with the 455 tune when i thought i would get better mileage with the tune, Im talking, I went from 18 city and 27-29 highway to 13 city and barely 19-20 on highway. Why so much mileage loss?
2.I have a tapping from under the car and for the life of me cannot find it, Any guesses? :dunno:

1. It's getting cold, mileage is going to go down.

you get better gas milage then i have ever gotten, and the tapping has to be an exhaust leek if it was present imediatly after the install.
An exhaust leak will cause bad fuel economy, that is prob. your tapping you hear too.

You claim you were getting 27-29 hwy mileage, :bs:
Kudos to you getting all of the mods installed and whatnot though, but seriously, 20-22 hwy is more likely correct even with the mods and tune you have, unless you go 60 in 6th and very flat roads?
The best mileage I got when I was all stock except a predator tune was 23mpg with the A4...

NOS plate kit problem...

well i have a LS1 plate kit (not installed but i have a Fast 90/90 combo now with the stock intake and throttle bodie the plate was preety stealthy (this was my plate kit with stock intake)
now what iwas thinking is that i want to keep the plate and is there any way to get theplate to look like it was supposed to be there withthe fast 90/90 having the tb being polished and the manifold is grey..what can i do??also i need to buy a ls2 plate to make it fit correct?
WE carry the NOS 90 mm plate as well as ours.
We could polish our plate for you.

so whats your problem? you just need a new plate
If you paint your manifold flat black and use a polished nitrous plate your system would look kinda stealth. The problem there is the polished TB,if you could get one unpolished that would be better for what you want.
dave on your website the ls2 conversion plate kit work with my fast90/NW 90 ohh and btw i had a 85mm manifold and tb and i bought a 85mm plate conversion from you and its still under my bed lol can we do an exchange???? btw this was months ago
