I am hoping to get the motor and new fuel system in the car this weekend and ready to drop it off to our fab guy to complete all my hot parts.
The kit will house a Forced Inductions S91 turbo.
ETA on this being complete is the middle to the end of DEC. I Mike Murllio is going to be tuning the car with Bigstuff3. I will be running a Exile boost controller also.
Only thing left stock on this car is the rear end. :wiggle:
Flame on. Pics will be up shortly.
Anyone want to come check this install out feel free to drop by Fatal Performance in Humble Texas. Located off 1960. Fatal Performance took over the same place that Conley's Performance Plus had so if you know where that is.

Also for those interested I am running the new 6.0/6.2 GM 5 layer gaskets so I will have a write up on them very shortly also.
3 Attachment(s) Lil more of a update. Car is being dropped off to our fab guy on Dec 10th. We are going to use a GT4788MM Turbo for building this kit. Should be the first Large Frame single GTO out.
I got my buddy Marty doing me a custom radaitor and custom intercooler.
So how big of a intercooler can you fit behind a GTO bumper cover?
33INX13INX4IN
So how big of a radaitor can you fit without having any fitment issues?
33INX18INX3IN 3IN tanks and 2 1/4 core with shroud and dual Spal 12" Fans.
Mock up pics. Tried out my boxing and duct tape skills on making a mock up. :drink:
Somebody got a vacuum pump. . .
Nice. Good job.
Somebody got a vacuum pump. . .
Nice. Good job. yeah had it now for 4-5 months :gears:
Should be the first Large Frame single GTO out. Always bragging about "first this" and "first that"- how bout you concern yourself with "first car I've ever had that runs" :D..
Looking good and shows potential, as usual- just hope it works this time :).

id just duct tape the box there and call it good.
Opinion on Rota P-45's for GTO.

Just wanted to see what everyone thought of these wheels:
http://www.subydude.com/images/prod/...5staggered.jpg
I was thinking about trying to get Rota to make 18X8 & 18X9.5 for our GTO's?
I think they are pretty hot wheels, especially in low offsets. Lots of Rota haters on the Subaru forums, but they are tough, inexpensive, relatively lightweight wheels.
those look similar to the slipstreams rota makes.
i had a set on my crx, they are made to replicate spoons wheel, the s7??s6??
I think they are pretty hot wheels, especially in low offsets. Lots of Rota haters on the Subaru forums, but they are tough, inexpensive, relatively lightweight wheels. I had 3 different sets of Rotas on my WRX, and was happy with each of them. If they made them in GTO sizes, I'd certainly consider them. :)
Thanks for the input. I just weighed the Rota P-45R for the 350Z/G35 in 18X9.5 which would be very similiar to the GTO fitment and it was 24.25lbs, not bad considering the stock 17X8 is 26.50lbs on the same scale.
if they did fit i would certainly get he black ones w/ the red pin stripe. It would def give my car that GT racing look.
i had rotas on my miata at one time they were great
I would buy them in a heartbeat. Those in a 18x8 or 8.5 front and a 18x9.5 rear in the right offsets in either black or a dark silver are the exact rims I want.
Keep me in mind, I'm definitely interested

could get a petition started, you know they would make a killing if they accomodated the GTO market.
Get me some made too.
Any idea's on price?
DANG!!! After I put in an order with you for some WORKS, ARGH!!

Rota seems to be pretty responsive to enthusiast markets; I don't know if the GTO community is large enough to make it worthwhile for them but if they made some wheels in the right size/offsets, they'd make a killing.
1 Attachment(s) Emailing back and forth with Rota, it looks like they are willing to offer a small batch to test the waters. I'll pass along the information as it comes. The picture is what the finish and rear wheel would look like, the front wheel would be the non "R" version. The finish will probably be Hyper Black in the following specs:
18X8.0 5X120 et42mm hb 69.5mm
18X9.5 5X120 et50mm hb 69.5mm
jimitjames- You have a PM.
I'd buy that exact set if they fit perfect. 18x8.5 up front would be greatly preferred though
I have a feeling these wheels are going to be very pricey.
J-Line 5RL2's look almost exactly like them.
Rota is known for making copies of famous wheels for cheap. It'll probably be under a grand for all four wheels.
Volk RE30: $3040, 18x8.5, 18 lbs:
Rota SVN: $800, 18x8.5, 20 lbs:
I've seen sets of 17" Rotas going for $650 shipped before - and yet, they're strong, fairly lightweight wheels. The only reason people hate them is because they do make copies of more famous designs. The elitists don't want the masses looking like them.
You are Exactly right^^^^ defeats the point in them paying all that money for the real deals.
Only thing that would suck for me though if they was to make only so many to test the waters. i guarentee they would be sold by the time i come up w/ the money for them. I'd prefer flat black too.
These would ultimately look awesome on my torrid red. ^^^^ DROOOOOOL
Anyone want to voluteer to do some photoshopping?

Would that rear offset require rolling? Could they increase the rear offset to like 55 or something?
I'd be all over some good rotas...I'm a cheap bastard. Well that and if I put it into a curb I won't go broke.

Over on GTO Forums I was trying to drum up interest in the Rota Torque wheels 18x8 front 18x9.5 rear with custom offset of 45 front, 55 rear so that there will be no issues with rub and no need to roll fenders, etc. Subydude is having a group buy on bimmerforums.com and is willing to get the custom sizes if we get 3 people (2 so far) and is further willing to go with a custom center bore for the GTO (69.5mm right?) if we can get 5 people. I chose the torque because it is a simple split 5 spoke and is one of their lightest wheels. Go check out the Rota GB thread on bimmerforums.com if you are interested.

05 GTO
I would have to believe that these wheels would be priced similar to the staggered fitments for the BMW & 350Z which are are very similar to the GTO. Finish is still to be determined.
As for sizes and offsets, the 8" & 9" combination would be the best choice for 99% of the GTO's out there for no fender modifications. I'm trying to take into account every GTO will have some differences in the alignment, cradle, suspension, weight, brand tires, size tires, etc. I figured an 8" in front could still accommodate a 245/40R18, 8.5" is an option, but there is a very slight chance that some GTO's may have a little rubbing depending on their size and brand of tire. As for the rear, I calculated that an et50mm will give the best compromise for clearance on the inside & outside. An et55mm would give more clearance from the fender, but it does get closer to the inside wall. On my own car, I've had to do fender rolling and modifying the inside of my fenders. Of course, I'm using a 285 on a 10", but the calculations for the 18X9.5 w/ et55mm are similar to my rims.
Thanks for the info Brian.
I could be down.
Where are they made?
Good looking wheels! I'd be interested in Black and 9-inch rear...if they make it...

05 GTO
So would they be willing to do it in a different design like the p45's posted here?
Yes, Rota is willing to produce any of their designs. I believe for staggered set-ups, the Torque, P45R/P45, and Linea Corse designs are the only one's currently available.
One of the issues I do see is that people are going to want different colors as well as widths/offsets. Everyone has different limits as to how much modification they are willing to do. An 8" & 9" set-up is the "safest", though 8.5" & 9.5" would give a better contact patch.
From my understanding in speaking to Subydude & Rota USA, the minimum production run is 20 pieces of each design, offset, width, diameter, etc. So basically to get a staggered set-up, minimum order is 10 sets, 20 fronts and 20 rears. Another option is to use the BMW set-ups.
I definitely think we can get 10 sets sold here.
Start it up and we'll get it done.
I could be down.
Where are they made? In the Philippines.
There were a number of Subarus competing at the professional level on Rotas - they're durable :)
well if this gets started, i will for sure be down for a group buy. I am totally down for these and will stay commited.
if i wouldn't have just ordered ccws i would have definetly jumped on the rotas
gears

where can i get a set of 3.60 to 3.70 gears for my 2005 GTO??? And what is the difficulty level of the installation???
Hi Mike...I think the only 2 options for the GTO are 3.73 (or maybe it was 3.91?) or 4.11...someone please correct me...
And if you have to ask about the difficulty of a gear install, you're going to need someone to do it for you...takes someone w/knowledge to set gears properly...backlash/pinion depth, etc...
thanks, couldn't remember specifically.
...takes someone w/knowledge to set gears properly...backlash/pinion depth, etc... There aren't that many that can do a differential correct, even if they say they can.
Warranty Question.....

Just a quick question i thought i would ask you all before i go ahead and call when i wake up later. I know people have purchased the extended warranty as i did. I was wondering if i could "return" it, as i want to mod and i don't see the purpose of paying for a extended warranty that i am going to void by modding........... and just so you know, the wife had me get the warranty, and as all married men know, saying no to the wife is a no no :wall: I only have 3k miles on the car and got it about 6 months ago.
Thanks all
Extended warranties are the biggest rip-off out there, and a huge money maker for the dealer, which is why they push them so hard. If you do any major mods, it becomes 100% useless to you. Might as well throw your money in the toilet. You can get a refund on it (after you listen to more sales BS from the finance manager). They will credit it back to your car loan, or if you paid cash, cut you a check. They may charge you a small cancellation fee, I'm not sure. I cancelled one a few years ago with no problems.
Yes. They'll prorate it for the amount of time you had it, but you can sell back an extended warranty.
nice. thanks. going to try and get it done today.
yeah you can also do that on any car you have gap on also dealers dont really like to do refunds since they make a lot of gross on gap and extended policies
now its just a matter of, if i can get it done at the dealership down the street and not the one i purchased the car at (have many probs with the dealership, don't want to deal with them anymore). I am preying heh.
