Pull Computer History?

When I was at the dealer today they had hooked up the scanner to see what codes triggered the Traction Control off.
The scanner pulled up pretty much everything about the moment that the code triggered.
He told me it happed 6 key cycles ago and at 53MPH!
I'm curious... how much information and in what detail can they really pull form our Computers. I mean, will it show every time I've turned the T/C off and what kind of driving I've done? A better example being if I wanted to have some fun with the T/C off, could they see exactly what I was doing?
I knew they could see some things, but not that much.
I don't know for sure what they can see, but I know on the 1996 Mustang Cobra there is a dash light that comes on when you over-rev and only the dealer can disable it. And it also records your cars max speed supposedly so they know if you raced it.

I knew they could see some things, but not that much. History codes are stored like that to help the tech, when the code sets, the module takes a snap-shot at that moment, recording any necessary parameters that may be helpful. If there are no codes set, then the only data that can be read is what is happening live at that moment. The air-bag module (or SDM) works like a flight recorder during a crash when the airbags are deployed. Techs do not even have the ability to access this info, but certain authorities (if you know who I mean) do have the equipment to do so.
I've gotten quite a few laughs over the years, when a customer will describe what happened when a code set. "I was going 55 mph, blah, blah, blah." When I would pull up the code with the scanner, it would read 75-80 mph. LOL
Sweet.
But a little intimidating in a way.
Is it possible to reset the computer, like when you remove codes or remove the battery cable for a few minutes?

I'd like to have the knowledge to remove it if a lawsuit was impending and it had not been accessed already. I paid for the car, it's personal property, and by golly if they want to take some of my personal's property MEDIA (1st ammendment) that I created by my driving art then they are going to have to really work for it.
I don't think you can "remove" the SDM... It's hardwired into the Airbag electronics and sets off when they do... I think.

to have the data retreived
hers some info
http://www.airbagcrash.com/
here to buy the crash data retrevil tool....its not cheap

Big brother and his damn "black boxes". :banghead:

So.. if somehow the thing shorted out and the electronics went *poof* ... must have happened in the crash :dunno:

So.. if somehow the thing shorted out and the electronics went *poof* ... must have happened in the crash :dunno: The engineering on those things is pretty tough. I had one just two days ago that had set off like 15 codes in history, but had a "ECU Malfunction" code set as current. I could still read what little data it lets us see though!!!! When I pulled it out (it was in a plant truck), the whole thing had this red corrosion all over it (probably toxic knowing my luck LOL). It was still working though.
Coming from someone who works in the big plant in North Baton Rouge (I'm sure you know the company ;)), I can tell you, there is nothing to worry about concerning that red corrosion :secret:
Watch your GPS unit also. My son was fiddling with mine and asked if my car really goes 158. I said no 155 why and he told me the GPS said maximum speed reached 158! Damn snitch GPS.
Exhaust Cutouts!!! Where did you put the SWitch

I just recently purchased a set of Bad Landz Electric cutouts and was wondering where some of you guys put your switch and what tools you used for placement. PIcs would be appreciated
I dont have any pics, but I put mine in the small space between the cupholders. I tapped into the power source for the light, and ran my wires through the white shifter boot. Worked great, easy access, and hidden.
mine is in the section under the radio - so if you put your hand down next to the shifter and have your fingers curled around that lip you'll feel the switch (nice and hidden) if you can see the circle (i know hard to see) thats the location
im just using the wireless switch, fits perfect in the little recess behind the window switches.
what color scheme to go with on sap grills??

Well, the car is going in for some minor body work, and i picked up some sap grills to be put in. my question is:
what color scheme should i go with? should i have them painted all gloss black and paint the gto badge red?
or should i paint the silver part TR and just the honeycomb gloss black, gto badge red?
the honeycomb on the hood will be painted gloss black as well
My rims are painted gloss black if that helps, and the front emblem is also blacked out. here is a pic:
emblem:
wheels:
Definitely gloss black with red GTO, especially since you are having the OEM hood scoops painted gloss black... I think it would look killer!
Paint the grilles and hood honeycombs semi-gloss black.
Edit - If you are saying that the whole (currently red) hood insert will be gloss black (not just the mesh) then paint the grills to match.
I think it will look good as long as the theme you chose is consistent...
I really think the black "nostril" look would look slick on both the hood/bumper...
Paint the grilles and hood honeycombs semi-gloss black.
Edit - If you are saying that the whole (currently red) hood insert will be gloss black (not just the mesh) then paint the grills to match. i edited my post. i meant just the honeycomb part on the hood.
so your saying just paint the honeycomb parts black, and to paint the normally silver part of the sap grill red?
I say gloss black on the silver part, flat or semi on the grille part and red on the GTO.
I'd paint the silver part red and the honeycomb semi gloss black.
yeah, gloss black would look good!!!
I'd paint the silver part red and the honeycomb semi gloss black. :iagree:
paint them black zach. it will look meaner
think im gonna go all black, with the gto in red
i already told you retard... gloss black on the entire grilles and then the scoops on the hood and mesh also gloss black.... do the GTO lettering only red.
GTO in silver...
SAP grilles (THE ENTIRE PIECE) SATIN BLACK...
Hood scoops (THE ENTIRE PEICE) SATIN BLACK...
Gloss black since your wheels are... but if you were starting from scratch, do it all in flat black :D
Check out these Tires.. They're on sale

This Tires are going for 80bucks a tire... Check it out.. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=Z
Yeah, then look at their ranking...18th of 44, with poop for treadwear. Probably not a deal, thus they are mongo cheap!
I have these tires and they are pretty good, no complaints. Plus you can't beat the price.
Es100's were recently replaced with the Yoko S.Drive.
The ES100's had good turn-in and a very sporting character for a tire of its price but its poor mileage and their VERY loud with wear.
well I just order I full set of them. Could let that deal pass
They couldn't keep my 305 TBI thirdgen's wheels to the ground.
Why do Japanese tires always look like they're slick, hard, and coated with Silicone?
QSM with split exhaust on stock bumper. Lotsa pics.

Finnaly got the car back from Tindall auto body and everything on! First let me say, Tindall did such an amazing job, the paint was such a great match it's... Wow. The cut outs are damn near perfect! If you are in the St. Louis area, might wanna give 'em a shout. (PM me for thier number if you do) the other works they have done is jaw dropping!
Anyways! On to my 04 QSM w/ the split exhaust!
Looks awesome man, I really like the 04 bumper with dual outlets...thats one clean QSM!
IMO, take the "gto" and "5.7" emblems off the rear...and its perfect.

Why? You just need a fishing line and some automotive goo gone... Last time I removed well not badges, but side moldings with fishing line it took clear with it. =(
Damn dude... That looks awesome! Nice job!
I think it looks really good...
What all did they paint? The bottom skirt?
I think it looks really good...
What all did they paint? The bottom skirt? It was a new bumper, so the whole thing was cut then repainted.
well im happy that it matches so well, IMO that's how the 04's should have came from the factory...Looks sharp!
Nicely done. Do the tips stick out a little more than the stock 04's?
Face!
nice work
Needs these...
http://www.pfyc.com/mm5/merchant.mvc...tegory_Code=GT Hate those :wall: they just don't look right to me. Both sides are un molded so they are identical.
looks good man very unique I like it
nice job...im glad it turned out as you hoped...+1 for the double-dual guys...

Looks good! lil uneven? or just me?
Looks good! lil uneven? or just me? Tips need to be centered more, might be what you are seeing.
Nice work. Looks clean.
Very, very nice!!!!
i like em... align em and be done with it...
Looks pretty good with dual cutouts. Might be the pics and angles but it looks to be off. In the first pic the right side cutout looks a little "angular" on top, almost choppy. While the left cutout looks fairly round. Also in pic 3 the left tip looks rather centere while the right tip looks pushed out to the right. But then again my tips arent straight either, I need to get them fixed after winter.
It is planned once I obtain a heat gun! And thanks for the complements! don't use a heat gun. you can ruin your paint in just a few seconds and it can bubble up. I have seen too many people have this happen, after they said "I only had it up there for a few seconds"
I tell them if they believed me in the first place, it wouldn't have even happened and they would have saved a couple/few hundred dollars in repairs
Very Nice...
i would invest in the pfcy cut piece because the right side did a real shitty cut job...the part would cover that
otherwise LOOKS GREAT

otherwise LOOKS GREAT from the pic, I couldn't tell if it was the cut or the exhaust, but I was looking at the left side?
I love quads:)
