Got one on my x-mas list http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=39178 Can we do clutches and torque converter swaps with a jack like this? I use a Craftsman ATV jack. That one got bad reviews. I like the first one posted though, looks pretty cool. Might have to add that to my collection. Thanks Thunder:cool: I've heard a lot of bad things about that floor jack adapter and I've tried using an ATV jack in the past as well with mixed results. Yes you can do clutch and converter swaps with the jack I mentioned. Its really just a light duty piece though, for occasional use. Also be aware that you need a 1/2" drive wrench, speeder wrench, or impact should do.
Christmas comes early...
Nitrous is on the way, anyone know where I can fill up in the west chester, pa / philly area? Hello 11s. ON PA3 there is a speed shop that fills i believe. i just dont exactly know where. if that doesnt help, go see robby at audio sensations on route 100 across the street from target. he should be able to point you in the right direction. You are the man, I will check that out today. andrewzpsu what nitrous kit did you order Sudden Impact dry kit from HSW. It should be here tomorrow. I still need to find a place to fill up so I can get this thing tuned where I want it. I'm gunna make a tune for every jet I get that the stock injectors can hold it lol. Then I'm gunna do some romping at the track this weekend. HSW FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!1one Yeah man i cant till i get my nitrous hooked up well good luck with that That a boy! You will not be disappointed with HSW's quality. I got the kit in, it looks pretty sleek and has a good write up on install. For the time being because I don't have a window switch (they were on backorder), I will be heading to radioshack and picking up a push button, kind of like the nitrous buttons in the fast and the furious lol. you can fill up at atco also. I did not know that... thats just fantastic lol you can fill up at atco also. be careful if you plan to run at a track with the nitrous, during tech inspection they should want to inspect your install for a NHRA fitting and blowdown vent tube on the bottle. I dont recall you saying your kit had one, so watch out...then again, i dont know the procedures at atco, but e town and island, they'd want to see the bottle. isn't the blowdown tube only required if the bottle is in the same compartment as the driver? Mine will be in the trunk. Blowdown tubes are only necessary when in the passenger compartment, as ya said. Atco has never even looked at my car during tech haha. If they do inspect it they will want to see the certification date on the tank, thats the only thing i got questioned on. My tank is also in the trunk. the issue is the trunks in the GTO's are not sealed from the passanger compartment...you still need a blodown tube if they go strictly by the book I'm all hooked up, and I'm running a tune for my 100 shot. I couldn't seem to get the nozzle placement as well as I should have... so I countered with a rich tune. Hey Andrew look into a progressive controller for your NOS. It will make such a big difference when used on the track. I also recommend a down tube. Also since you have a dry kit, make sure your MAF is tuned good and you placed the NOS nozzle in a good location before your MAF. I put it probably 3 inches away from the MAF, but found that the MAF still wasn't reading the signal. So after a few searches on here I saw that angling the thing at like 90* would help. I tried it, didn't help, but when I went over 90, basically the other direction, I started getting some reading. I'm thinking about descreening my MAF to see if that helps. I'll try and search around and help you find that problem. If the MAF is not seeing that NOS you will blow-up that engine. Here is some information just incase you did not know. Fit a new set of COLDER plugs. For example if your stock plugs are NGK-B7HS, for example, then use NGK-B8HS or 9 even, instead. This is one to two grades cooler. They need to be gapped about 10 to 20 percent less than stock plug gaps were originally. This has no "noticeable" effect on power, but means that when the Nitrous is operated, the standard ignition system can still cope with the higher effective compression ratio and still spark. Also if your plugs are "projected nose" type, fit NON projected nose ones! Ideally you want the shortest electrodes you can have! Imagine playing a blowtorch on your plugs. Which bit will glow first? Answer - the bottom earth electrode! Go for shorter ones... More information to come... The NOS nozzle should spray straight to the MAF, if the MAF is not picking up the change then make sure you have NOS coming out. Hey Nawk do you think you could help me install my nitrous? becuz u mentioned something in my myspace by helping or something like that and i was wondering when u are available becuz if u want i could drive out there thanks be careful if you plan to run at a track with the nitrous, during tech inspection they should want to inspect your install for a NHRA fitting and blowdown vent tube on the bottle. Hey Nawk do you think you could help me install my nitrous? becuz u mentioned something in my myspace by helping or something like that and i was wondering when u are available becuz if u want i could drive out there thanks Hey Brian, I'd love to help you install you nitrous kit. Do you by any chance have a warm place to work in? We can schedule some time in a weekend and I'll go there and we can attack that monster.
Front bumper repair help?
My front bumper wont stay on 100% it always tends to come off one of the clips on the left side. Any ideas on how to fix it? i can get some pics later to be more clear. I have the same problem tried fixing it but it just keep on comming off. I just learned to live with it. Its dosnt look that bad. Are yall talking about the little sag in the front? cuz mines got that too Its like the whole nose is a little loose. Any fixes to tighten it back up? I dont like the sound of this, any pics? Here is a picture of the part im talking about, its not my car though, its "Megadeth_Guy01" its dark here but i'l get mine tomorrow. You have a broken bumper clip under the driver's side headlight, just like nearly 1/2 of everybody else on here. Very easy to break when removing the bumper cover, and I've even seen a couple get like that without ever taking the bumper off. Any way to fix without ordering a new clip? or should i just order a new one and put it on. Some have used JB Weld, or epoxy to try and fix the hook fastener with varying degrees of success. I did that with mine, and after about a year, the gap came back a little. Not as wide as yours, but still noticeable, especially if you are as anal as I am. I am going to take the cover off again(gulp...) to see what I can do. I am going to use my new plastic welder on it this time. I will post up if it works. The Best Thing To Do Is Just Order A New Clip(called A Guide Bracket)from The Dealer For $24.63. When You Install It, Just Be Careful Not To Break Or Stretch The Tabs On The Bumper. Any Questions On How To Remove It, Just Pm Me. I Am A Paint And Body Guy And Have Worked On Many Of These Cars. I found the part, but its on the passenger side would be the left or right? Not sure what direction they are looking from, but i dont want to order the wrong one. Sorry for the dumb question Here is mine BTW I have fixed this with zipties, and so has 4bktvet... Find his thread with pics to get the best angle on how to do this, but its simple. Just make sure you get good zip ties, and not the little shitty made in china ones that dry out and eventually crumble like a cracker... wow that is bad. mines kinda sagging too but not that noticeable. chalk the bad bumper tabs up to another design flaw I found the part, but its on the passenger side would be the left or right? Not sure what direction they are looking from, but i dont want to order the wrong one. Sorry for the dumb question Here is mine BTW well... your right hand isnt your left hand because someone is facing you... its still your right hand... :) That would be your front right clip there... If I can find time, ill make a fully detailed document on how to fix this, and we'll get a mod to make it a sticky or something. Looks like youre probably missing an inside screw for the wheel well too. There should be 2 of them in there. Yours sticks out of the wheel well so much, i can only assume youre missing a screw or two there too
ROH Adrenalin wheels
Hi, I'm thinking about picking up these wheels from groupawheels.com (sponsor). I'm getting 17X8 for cost purposes. Link Anybody have them? Opinions? If you have them please post pics of them on the car. Thanks. expensive, much?! looks good though, i just cant justify spending $600+ for 17x8's expensive, much?! looks good though, i just cant justify spending $600+ for 17x8's I actually didn't think it was that bad. I'm going with this size to retain the use of the stock tires. If you know of cheaper 17x8's that look pretty good please let me know. I'm very open to suggestion. If you want cheap, I would suggest just getting some stock 18s + tires. Very few wheels wheels under 19in look better than them... +1 OEM 18's are of the best looking wheels on the GTO. i would have to agree, i cant remember where now, but ive found them for around $200 per wheel, brand new. re: OEM 18's If you want cheap, I would suggest just getting some stock 18s + tires. Very few wheels wheels under 19in look better than them... +1 OEM 18's are of the best looking wheels on the GTO. I'm obviously in the minority here, but I never liked the stock 18's. Too plain for me. Not that I want dub spinners or anything , but something in between would be good. Once the winter is over I'm thinking about a staggered set, maybe some 18x10 drift-r's or AZA Z-01 (if I feel lucky, nothing but horror stories about wheelmax). Anyway, for now, since I want to use the stock 17 tires, I'm sticking to 17" wheels. Wedding in June = no money for car mods. I ahve always liked the ROH wheels, they have always had some of the better looking designs, plus they are from AU and it looks to be that they have the fitments for the GTO's. I don't like the OEM 18's either. 8 inch rim is pretty narrow. I would go thicker if I were getting aftermarket rims. I love the hyperblack CCL's, but my smoke dipped stockers are fine with me. Fac! Hi, I'm thinking about picking up these wheels from groupawheels.com (sponsor). I'm getting 17X8 for cost purposes. Link Anybody have them? Opinions? If you have them please post pics of them on the car. Thanks. I'm not feeling it. The OEM 18s are decent enough, but I'm diggin' TSWs. Now I have to convince Mrs. Midnight. :banghead: I change my mind a lot. But every time I'm convinced I'm right. Now I'm thinking I should just get a dedicated winter wheel/tire. I'm looking at some 17x7.5 (42 offset) wheels on tirerack for $99 or $119 depending on color, and 225/50/17 Pirelli 210 snowsport tires. The total package would be about $950 shipped if I go with the silver ones. Wheel Tires Then when the snow melts it's time for summer wheels/tires. i would have to agree, i cant remember where now, but ive found them for around $200 per wheel, brand new. re: OEM 18's any chance you remember where?
