hideaways in New Dodge Rams??
Anyone have hideaways in the new Rams? (03-and up?) I'd like to put some ambers in my reverse lights but dont think they'd fit. What about the front? Any pics would be helpful!! Hideaway tubes will fit in the backup sections, just be sure to check with the clearance of the fasteners for the tail lamps before drilling. The front lenses are double layered. To mount the tubes in the front lenses, drill a 1.5" hole through the first layer and then a 1" hole in the reflector layer. No pics, sorry. Call one of the manufactures.they should help out with the correct part number for the rear strobes i have them in the reverse and in the front corners and the rear ones are snug but not touching adn they are bright i love them i have them in the reverse and in the front corners and the rear ones are snug but not touching adn they are bright i love them Ditto, Do it this way and you will love it. Im going with 4 heads, 90 watts be good? Sounds like this project's going to be a little tricky to get them positioned right. I have clear hideway strobes in my turn signal lamps and my reverse lights and they are 100% brighter than any color that you can buy. And they are a little cheaper, too. :) Im going with 4 heads, 90 watts be good? Sounds like this project's going to be a little tricky to get them positioned right. you know it really wasnt that hard it was just the wiring...have a hole saw and silicon and thas pretty much it adn under my back seat is where i have it...its not even screwed in and i drilled a hole threw the florr there. i just did it like 2 weeks ago so its all fresh in my head so keep me posted if you have any problems and ill try my best to walk you through it Tom The wiring and all I can handle. Im just scared with the placement in the lenses. Dont wanna drill a hole in the wrong spot lol. I think I'll be fine once I take a better look. 2003 Ram 1500 wheels question
I have the 20" chrome wheels now from Dodge. I wanr to go with a smaller wheel and fatter off road tires. I have heard alot of different stories on this. Basically I am hearing that do to the size of the disc brakes I can only go down to 17" ??? Is that true? OR can I go to 16"???? Does anyone here have aftermarket wheels and a answer on sizing. Pics would help, so I know what looks cool too. email is appearanceplus01@sbcglobal.net. Thank You for your time., Snow is coming. Northern Michigan is getting hit hard or about to. not sure if this helps at all but once my crappy goodyears need to be replaced im going to nitto's. http://www.nittotire.com/tires_terragrappler.asp 05 2500 Hemi QC w/ blizzard 810
what is my best option for this much weight on my front end. A 810 is 900 and change. Should I go Timbrens or get 3500 springs is there even a difference in the springs anyway?thanks Does the truck have the plow prep package? what is the # on the springs that you have? There is a tag on the coil spring what is the last two digits, that will tell us witch ones you already have. That should give us a place to start. It already has the plow prep. I will take a look at those numbers ......thanks the numbers read as follows:driver: 984AA passenger: 983AA Do I need to upgrade???? the numbers read as follows:driver: 984AA passenger: 983AA Do I need to upgrade???? That# doesn't look right. It is a blue tag wrapted around the coil there is a couple rows if # on it, on the bottom row it will have 3 or 4 # like 039, or 038 or 046 , 047 you want the last 2 didgets. that will tell you witch springs you have, The plow prep springs for a gaser 2500 are 039 & 038. Would the numbers be the same on my truck ? Would the numbers be the same on my truck ? Not sure? what year, & model & options do you have? You could take a look and see if your tag is still on the spring. or you could decipher the vin it should tell you what options the truck has. Hello, I'm new to the here forum and was looking for help. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad cab 2500HD :) with a snow plow prep package and was looking at my front springs to see what's up. the part # is 52113984AA on the drivers side and 52113983AA on the passenger side. I am interested in either the blizzard 810 or snoway29 plow. Any help would be appreciated. :salute: Hello, I'm new to the here forum and was looking for help. I think there blue, It's not the part#, it's the coil spring load rating it should have three digits on it. like 039 or 038,047 etc.. Is there a another tag? Hello SnoFarmer, Thanks for the quick reply, there is only one tag on the front spring itself. The other numbers on that same tag read "984AA" and "71765" The tag is white with a green band on one side and white with a blue band on the otherside. Anybody? :dizzy: I have an 8'2" Boss V that weighs 860lbs on an 03 Ram 2500 with the Hemi and plow prep package. I do not have Timbrens in the front and have not used balasts in the back. I have not had any problems with this set up, but I do think that the weight technically voids my warranty. I've never brought my truck to the dealership with the plow on the front and they've never questioned the weight of my plow when doing warranty work. How does the driver's side upper attachment brace fit on your truck?? I just had a new 800 put on my '05 Dodge 2500 and noticed that the upper attachment brace that runs along the upper frame rail bolts to the inside of the frame rail with one bolt. It's shoulder or shelf doesn't appear to come in contact with the under side of the frame rail that it sits under. The passenger side is up nice and tight under/against the frame rail. Anyone else see the same "poor fit"? Looks lousy for fit. Thanks Ed I did it and got the snoway 29" x 8' purplebou The Dodge springs for the 2500HD with plow prep are the same springs as the 3500 on the gas engines. The only way to get heavier springs is to install the springs for the diesel engine setup. payup i have an 05 with an 810 and put a set of timbrens on it and its good as new. looks and rides great dont even kno the 950lbs is there. what exactly is a timbren? 94 Dodge Ram w/ Cummins
I am pressed for time to find a truck, since I just sold mine, withing two weeks (school starts  ). I am thinking of getting a 94 2500 diesel. The truck has 161,000 miles, and is at the top of my spending range. I am 98% sure that I can get the dealer to get me out the door after tax and liscense for $8,500 or less. That is the max I can spend, as I am not positive I can be safe over that (I am too young for my credit to go down the tubes!). I am sold on the cummins, and this truck has the lowest miles in my range. The question is, would you buy it if you were me? Here is a pic of it. Looks like a nice truck. I have one (94 Cummins) in black with a 5 speed. Great old truck. There are a couple of points to consider: Early 94s have a different track bar than the later models. (changed in Feb 94 I think) The early ones have a smaller taper on the frame mount stud so the dealer is the only source. (last I checked) I've replaced mine twice. (2nd time was my expense ~300 for the part) The larger ones are available aftermarket with a lifetime waranty. (don't let it stop the deal, just a heads up) Also the KDP (Killer Dower Pin) should be dealt with. It's an alignment pin in the timing case that can fall out into the timing gears causing an ugly oil leak on the front of the engine. It can be a very expensive fix. I love my old truck. It's a blast to drive since added some extra hp under the hood  There's a lot of info at the TDR website Good luck with it. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. You can't go wrong with the Cummins. The rest of the truck may have it's share of problems (all trucks do),but you shouldn't have to worry about the motor at all. Don't worry about the mileage,as the Cummins will go forever. Nice truck, the Cummins makes it worth the $$,definetely kill the dowel pin. Looks like a good clean truck from here. The cummins is a great motor and will last a very long time. Are you going to put a plow on the truck? Yes, I am going to hang a plow on the front. 90% sure that it will be a Blizzard 810. I got their info packet a few days ago, and it looks like a great plow. Do you guys think that doing 10 foot swipes would be a little too much with this truck? It will plow in the winter, and pull lawn mowers around in the summer. Probably going to get this one, I am applying for the loan. Clearing a 10 ft wide path with the Cummins is no problem. My truck will straightblade with a 12 footer, the only limiting factor is traction. My 3/4 ton Ram pushes the 9'2" Boss V with ease, the plow can be overflowing and full anglne the truck keeps on pushing .I dont think the 810 will be a problem. Well, I have the check in my pocket (won't see that much money for a while, I'll be nickel and diming it for a few years, unless it snows a ton and we can make some big payup )! I am going down tomorrow to pick it up. I'll post some pics when i get home. Probably won't get much sleep tonight, as it is my first real nice truck. I'm excited to get behind the wheel of that Cummins monster:bluebounc ! Good luck, hope the deal goes through as planned,as your gonna love that truck.Pics would be nice if you can get some. Good luck with the truck I hope it all works out for the best:) Well, the truck is in my driveway now. These things are awesome! The power of the mighty Cummins is absolutely incredible! I never knew what you Cummins guys were raving about (us Cummins guys, now:D ), but now I know! I am just looking for stumps or trailers to pull, that thing has so much power! well, thanks for all of your advice guys. Here are the pics: Another shot Here is my old truck, I went from 8 MPG with this to 18 MPG with the 94! Oh, I forgot to mention, I got pulled over 35 miles from my house. The cop pulled up behind me on the freeway, and sure enough flipped his cherries on. We got a slip of paper from the dealer that was supposed to be "good registration for 30 days". Turns out that the cop said it was junk, so I was thinking the worst. But he didn't give me a citation because it wasn't my fault. But, the Cummins had no problem getting up to speed on the busy freeway:D Nice looking truck. Im glad you got it and you are happy. Thanks for the pictures, now all you have to do is get the plow on there and you are all set. Oh yea, when you put the plow on, take more pictures, hehe. Good luck! Mike You think it has power now, wait until you turn it up some :D Wyldman took the words from my mouth! These things are so mild in stock form. Im glad you love your truck. Now that you own a CUmmins diesel, you wont likely ever go back to a gasser. That truck is a real nice one. good luck with it im sure you will be very pleased! More pics please:drinkup: Headlight problem 99' Ram
So I thought I blew a bulb the other day when the drivers side went out and only worked with the high beam on. I went and picked up a new bulb and I still have the same problem... Any guesses? 99' Ram 2500 do you have a plow on the truck? what brand plow? Have a Fisher mm on it. How are your electrical connections? Are you using Dielectric grease? first thing i would do is unplug the plow harness from the factory harness and plug the factory harness into the bulb on that side to eliminate the truck/factory harness BAD GROUND... check for power with a test light available at a partst store for a buck or so. I am sure it's a corroded ground on the radiator support. mike if it had a bad ground wouldn't the hi beams be out? There were some problems with headlight switches burning out on the older rams. Also they are negatively switched so keep that in mind. He is right... What I meant is check for power. There should be power all the time. The bulb should have 3 wires 1 hot and 2 switched ground wires one for HB and 1 for LB. Is the connector burnt. You probably have a bad connector on the bulb. One of them is probably all green with corrosion clean and apply dielectric grease. mike
