amp gauge;1985 blazer S10 lift kit;Poor Steering;Crew Cabbers...? for you
amp gauge
i have a 96 k1500........i put two new napa 850cca batterys in it..the problem i still see is that the amp gauge in the truck drops to about 9 when i move the plow.is that a good thing or a bad thing? is there someting i should do? new alt? Have you changed the hyd fluid and cleaned the filter for the plow? Cheek and clean the electrical connections. How is your alt holding up? Check and clean the connections for the alt too If all else fails have the pump motor cheeked out it may need new brushes. Ho, ya!! Does it do this as you are moving the plow or does it happen when the plow has hit the stops? 1985 blazer S10 lift kit
i cant seem to find a kit for my 85 blazer:help:  How much snow do you get in FL? What do you plow there? what is the lift for? no snow in Florida the lift is so i can fit bigger tires most manufacturers offer 1983-2004 s-10 blazer/pickup lift kits. Superlift, BDS, Rancho, etc BDS and Performance Accessories also offer body lift kits, you can get a 3 inch body lift kit for your SUV. http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/GM_S10_4wd.htm check that out. it will give you an idea where to start. Google is your friend. (I have a 2 inch BDS body lift on my 2000 S-10 ZR2...I like it. I can clear 31's stock, and 33's with the body lift and MINOR trimming of the wheel wells.) I have a 94 S10 Tahoe LT 4dr 4x4 and It has a 3" body lift and a 2" superlifts suspension lift. You want bigger tires, what size tires do you want to run? Is your truck a 2 or 4 wheel drive? if its 4x4 you can crank your T-bars for a little front lift. what gear ratio are you running? what do you have for an engine 2.8? I'm running 31x10.5 R15 but i would try running those with a 2.8, it takes alot of power to turn those tires. i would like to fit 31's. its 4x4. Dont no gear ratio 2.8 V6 body lifts are nice because it doesn't raise the center of gravity as much as it does when you do the suspension lift. But you can run 31's with just the body lift and a turn of the t-bars. and to lift the rear end a bit I would just go buy some air shock from autozone the gaberials have a lifetime warranty. and they seem to hold air very well. it you do a rear axle flip it's going to be to high. I think my body lift took me about 8 hours to install. how high do the air shock raise it Poor Steering
Help! Help! I have a "77" Chevy 3/4 4x4. The problem I have with it is the play in the steering. I installed a rebuild steering gear and the play is still there. Is there an adjustment that I can make on the gear itself ( The locking nut on top ) that could tighten up the play. Thanks. You shouldnt monkey with the Pitman shaft lash adjustment unless you have the gear sitting on a bench. My experience with GM products, loose steering=idler arm failure, check tie rod ends also. Crew Cabbers...? for you
How many of you have a D/A combo? What blade are you running? (yes, I know GM doesn't reccomend this). How does the truck handle the weight? Gas jobbers, I think the crew cab short beds are a little longer than a ext. cab short bed. How is your turning radius? Do you have problems with doing residentials??? Thanks, BL The CC is about 9 inches longer than an ECSB, which is what I had. I thought it would be a hassle in residentials, but I have gotten used to it and don't even notice the length anymore. I look at it this way: I need the crew cab a lot more times than I need the plow so it has worked out for me. Only thing I wish I did was to get at least an 8 ft blade rather than the 7.5 I have now.:crying: I really wanted the crew cab. But after driving both I went with the EC.Big difference in turn radius. Have res. areas to do and still need to get the family in. If your looking at D/A combo Id consider the EC to keep the warranty issue.Still good for resale with D/A package. Chris BL, I love mine. I do about a dozen residentials. As previously stated, I need the CC many more times a year than the plow. You only notice the length in the tight driveways. The key for me is the 8.5 foot Fisher. I had a 7.5 and modified it like my signature says and it makes all the difference when turning and plowing. I've already offered my opinion on the DA in your other thread. Happy shopping! I got 'em all. EC RC. The CC is not a big deal; only occasionally gets in the way. Gotta haul the kids around so it was well worth it. Jeff, Mine is on the ribbed part of the roof near the back. I used the Whelen magnetic mount kit and covered the magnets with one layer of duct tape so it wouldn't scratch the paint. I have a quick disconnect on the wire for removal in the off season.
