Just picked up a 05 2500HD

I Just picked up a 05 2500HD and I plan on putting on my MM2 system off my 89 F250. I know I need to get the new 7169 push plates and do you know good place to get them as far as pricing? I also need to get 27780 lighting kit. I was told I couldnt use the 8436 kit I got on the truck. I was planning on buying just the 2 headlight harnesses. I guess the module is different.
Any issues or concerns with putting this plow on this truck?
also any pics ,tips as to where you mounted the solenoid and module?
Congrats on the new Chevy! I would go right to the Fisher web site and find out every thing you need for the Chevy including part numbers then search here and ebay for them. If you go to a dealer it might cost you $500-$700 for everything.
Don't know where you are in Mass., but there's J.C. Madigan in Harvard, MA right off 495, or Brake and Clutch in Salem, MA and a bunch of places just over the NH border near 95, 16, and 1. You can go to Fisher's website and locate a dealer near you. Good luck.
I found the push plates used and all other truck side stuff new for a fair price from http://www.snowplowsales.com/ in NH. Shipping was fast and very fairly priced and they were great to deal with. you need the ISO module w/ the green label.. part #27780 is the whole kit(harness, module, etc). i forget the actual part# for just the module, but, it has a green label on it.
no problems putting on your truck. i have a V on my 05.
Heres some install pics that may help you.. please excuse the dirty truck. the roads were a mess..
Hide your wires in your bumper so they arent bouncing off the bottom of your grill and ruining the paint..
Solenoid mounted to alternator bracket. Ground to alternator mounting bolt.
ISO module mounted to fan shroud w/ double sided velcro that comes w/ module.
wires bundled up nice n tight and ziptied w/ plow fuses tucked between battery and truck fuse box for easy access.
Why did you cut the bumper? It should of fit without cutting....
You mean the lower valance?
Thats what someone else told me also, but, not even close. you can see it in the pics. someone did make mention of some new style fisher mounts that actually mount under the valance. however, ground clearance is reduced significantly, and, these nose draggers need all the front end clearance they can get.
05 2500hd-4LE65 or 4LE80 tranny?

Whch tranny do these have. Im told there was a new version of the 60 w/ beefier internals called the 65. is this true?
The 1500HD will have the 4L65E, which you said is a beefier 4L60E
The 2500HDS have the 4L80E....
thanks....

Heater problem

My wife has a '96 s-10 blazer. The heater doesn't want to work all the ime. Most of the time when you turn the switch, nothing happens. Then suddenly the blower will kick on. Any suggestions before I commit to a major shop visit?
I found this on another site regarding the same issue.
"Answer
The blower motor itself would be a good guess, but there is a resistor pack, two relays, and a switch and controller that could also be the problem.
Next time it is turned on but not running, find the motor, and see if there is power to the wire to it...probably a purple wire.
Some of the S models, in order to replace the resistor pack, you need to cut a section of the blower housing out, so a manual with a cutting diagram is a must, and it will give you a troubleshooting proceedure also.
You can read one at the public library, in the refference section. "
if "bigger" is better..then why..

don't the truck manufactures put on bigger dia. exhaust and a bigger intake system right at the factory?
and before you say COST..how much would it add to do it right the 1st time..above the cost of what there doing now??
i dont get it..
2 reasons bigger than cost - noise and emissions (especially noise). They need to keep the noise level down from a sales perspective. One of the traditional negatives that hurts diesel slaes is the perception that they are noisy compared to a gasser. A lower restriction intake tract will by nature generate more noise. I speak first hand on this one. I had a 1994 GMC half-ton 2wd that I bought new. I made 2 simple mods - freer exhaust and I replace the "silencer" with an intake tube for a 6.5 diesel equipped 3/4 ton. The intake tube caused a very noticable increase in intake noise at half throttle on up - almost as much as the exhaust.
The other factor is the vast majority of buyers of all vehicles keep them stock and are very happy with them that way.
Also with the Diesel HP wars raging anything they don't do now they can use for next year's increase.
not only that, they would have to change all their part's over for inventory and such. They have to keep making some parts for 10 years, so they would have to keep manufacturing something they are not even using anymore for years to come. It wouldnt be economical at all.
Becasue you dont really see HP on a stock type set up from those 2 listed mods. Now on a diesel a better flowing muffler and ditching the cat(emmision reasons why they have that) would drop EGT's but not much in the way of HP. But most people dont want a loud exhaust. On gassers if you go with huge exhaust you can take away some bottom end to gain some top end. Not wanted in most cases by most people. Plus noise reasons.
